Rhinolithiasis: a disorder not to be approached transorally
The Journal of the American Dental Association, 1979Rhinolithiasis is a disorder that results from the calcification of intranasal foreign bodies. An unusual case is presented in which a rhinolith was discovered on a maxillary occlusal radiograph. The rhinolith was initially confused with a lesion of the palate. Precise localization of lesions is mandatory before transoral exploration is attempted.

Transoral approach to fractures of the mandible
The Laryngoscope, 1987AbstractThe transoral approach to open reduction of mandibular fractures has gained popularity but remains controversial. This report reviews 37 consecutive transoral open reductions of various mandibular fractures performed in 32 patients over a 2‐year period. The fracture site most often addressed transorally was the symphysis and parasymphysis area.

The Transoral Transpalatal Approach to the Pituitary Fossa
min - Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery, 1995Transpalatal trans-sphenoidal approaches to the sella turcica were described as early as 1900. Since the advent of effective trans-sphenoidal pituitary microsurgery in the 1960's, the sublabial transnasal approach became the most widely used. We reassessed the transoral transpalatal approach in 1978 and found the procedure to have distinct advantages ...

Transoral robotic approach for laryngeal schwannoma
Head & Neck, 2015ABSTRACTBackgroundThe laryngeal schwannoma is a rare benign tumor of the larynx, most frequently found in the aryepiglottic fold, which can be rather bulky when diagnosed.MethodsWe present a primary transoral robotic surgery (TORS) for a laryngeal schwannoma and highlight the advantages of the robotic assistance.ResultsThanks to the high‐definition 3D ...

Transoral approach to the upper cervical spine
The Laryngoscope, 1991AbstractThe transoral approach to pathology of the upper cervical spine is logical, but it is seldom used due to concerns about exposure and infection. The authors report on 16 consecutive patients requiring exposure from clivus through C3 for pathology, including spinal cord compression by rheumatoid pan‐nus, craniovertebral anomalies, and tumor ...

The Transoral Surgical Approach to Craniovertebral Pathology
Journal of Neuroscience Nursing, 1986The transoral approach is a surgical technique that can be used effectively in the treatment of anterior craniovertebral junction (CVJ) pathology. In this review, we outline the signs, symptoms, and diagnostic studies that identify the pathology and help to determine subsequent therapy.

Transoral approach to thyroid gland in the experiment
Khirurgiya. Zhurnal im. N.I. Pirogova, 2017To develop minimally invasive and safe endoscopic access to thyroid gland.Transoral pre-mandibular video-assisted gas-free access to thyroid gland was developed in experimental study that included 19 human cadavers. Stereometric modeling defined the evaluation criteria including the form of basal arch of lower jaw and its height.
