Clinical Efficacy Analysis of Unilateral Modified Arytenoidectomy for Bilateral Vocal Fold Paralysis
ABSTRACT Purpose To explore the clinical efficacy of unilateral modified arytenoidectomy (UMA) in the treatment of bilateral vocal fold paralysis(BVFP) based on animal models. Methods The UMA which had been tested in excised canine larynges with simulated BVFP was adapted into a clinical technique. The characteristics of this surgical technique involve

Transoral endoscopic thyroidectomy via the trivestibular route [PDF]
We recently experienced a case of transoral endoscopic thyroidectomy via the trivestibular approach. We identified and preserved all neighboring critical structures during surgery. The patient was discharged on postoperative day 3. There were no complications in thyroid function, vocal cord function, or lower lip sense.

Ultrasonic Vocalization Acoustics After Recurrent Laryngeal Nerve Injury and Recovery
Reliable and functional biomarkers in animal models of recurrent laryngeal nerve (RLN) injury are needed to ensure translation of treatments from the laboratory to the clinic. This study aimed to investigate the impact of RLN injury on rodent ultrasonic vocalization (USV) acoustics in both acute and chronic stages of injury.

Monitored transoral endoscopic thyroidectomy via long monopolar stimulation probe [PDF]
This video aimed to describe the role of intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM) during transoral endoscopic thyroidectomy vestibular approach (TOETVA) with emphasis given to IONM technical and technological notes, the identification of recurrent laryngeal

ABSTRACT Background The research aims to investigate the potential use of near‐infrared fluorescence imaging with Indocyanine green (ICG) to detect the parathyroid glands (PGs) during surgery and to evaluate their blood supply. Additionally, a review of existing literature was performed to evaluate the utility of near‐infrared imaging with ICG in ...

Controversies in remote access thyroid surgery
Remote-access thyroidectomy comprises a group of endoscopic and robotic procedures, including the bilateral axillo-breast, gasless axillary, retroauricular, and transoral vestibular approaches, developed to relocate or conceal the cervical incision while

Anaesthesia for Transoral Endoscopic Thyroidectomy
The expanding realm of minimally invasive surgery incorporate specific anaesthetic challenges. This report transcribes the anaesthetic technique for the first successful Transoral Endoscopic Thyroidectomy (TOET) performed in Sri Lanka using 3-dimensional (3D) endoscopy at National Hospital of Sri Lanka.

Evaluation of the Effect of Platelet‐Rich Plasma Injection After Recurrent Nerve Injury in Rats
In cases of nerve injury during surgery, serum obtained from the patient's own blood and PRP, which is obtained easily and cheaply, can be applied in the same session. Therefore, inspired by this study, human trials can be carried out. ABSTRACT Introduction Injuries to the recurrent laryngeal nerve (RLN) that may occur during thyroidectomy cause ...
