Rheological behavior of semi‐aromatic transparent polyamide

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2005
AbstractThe rheological behaviors of semi‐aromatic transparent polyamide (SATPA) melt are investigated using a capillary rheometer. The effects of shear rate, shear stress, and temperature on the apparent viscosity ηa of SATPA are discussed. A correlation of non‐Newtonian index with temperature is obtained. The results show the shear thinning of SATPA;

Separating transparent layers of repetitive dynamic behaviors

Tenth IEEE International Conference on Computer Vision (ICCV'05) Volume 1, 2005
In this paper, we present an approach for separating two transparent layers of complex nonrigid scene dynamics. The dynamics in one of the layers is assumed to be repetitive, while the other can have any arbitrary dynamics. Such repetitive dynamics includes, among other, human actions in video (e.g., a walking person), or a repetitive musical tune in ...

Crystallization Behavior of a New Transparent Glass-Ceramics

Advanced Materials Research, 2010
In this article we present a new kind of large grain transparent glass-ceramics obtained by the method of crystal growth from a homogenous glass, the simultaneous variation of the glass matrix and crystalline compositions during the crystallization results in the high transparency of this kind of large grain, high crystalline volume glass-ceramics ...

Domain Behavior in Some Transparent Magnetic Oxides

Journal of Applied Physics, 1959
Magnetic domains were observed by means of the Faraday effect, and by the Bitter technique in a number of compounds having the spinel, magnetoplumbite, and perovskite-like structures. The latter compounds are orthorhombic and have the general formula MFeO3 where M is Y, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, or Lu. Domain boundaries in these compounds

Does transparency influence the ethical behavior of salespeople?

Journal of Business Research, 2014
Abstract This study introduces the concept of perceived salesperson transparency to the sales literature. It addresses how recent technological developments impact traditional agency theory concerns, while simultaneously creating a conceptual definition of perceived transparency for application on an individual level.

Thermal behavior of transparent poly(etheretherketone)(PEEK) film [PDF]

open access: possiblePolymer Engineering & Science, 1990
AbstractThe thermal behavior of poly(etheretherketone)(PEEK) film heated in an open differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) pan at 20°C/min is distorted by relaxation of the strained film. PEEK film in a closed pan or quenched PEEK in open or closed pans shows a glass‐transition temperature (Tg) around 144°C, cold crystallization (∼22 J/g) at 177°C ...

Transient-Pulse Behavior and Self-Induced Transparency

Physical Review B, 1970
The dynamics of self-induced transparency in an inhomogeneously broadened attenuator is investigated with special emphasis on delay times. One finds a strong dependence of delay times on the input value of the area parameter $\ensuremath{\theta}$ with pulses of ${\ensuremath{\theta}}_{\mathrm{in}}\ensuremath{\approx}\ensuremath{\pi}$ exhibiting much ...

The Impact of More Transparent Interfaces on Behavior in Personalized Recommendation

Proceedings of the 43rd International ACM SIGIR Conference on Research and Development in Information Retrieval, 2020
Many interactive online systems, such as social media platforms or news sites, provide personalized experiences through recommendations or news feed customization based on people's feedback and engagement on individual items (e.g., liking items). In this paper, we investigate how we can support a greater degree of user control in such systems by ...

Scaling behavior of ZnO transparent thin-film transistors

Applied Physics Letters, 2006
Scaling behaviors of ZnO transparent thin-film transistors (TTFTs) have been studied by fabricating series of miniaturized ZnO TTFTs having various channel widths and lengths. Mobility of >8cm2∕Vs and on/off ratio of up to 107 are achieved with these TTFTs.
