The thermal shock behaviors of yb:YAG transparent ceramics
Ceramics International, 2016Abstract The thermal shock resistance is a major concern of the Yb:Y 3 Al 5 O 12 (Yb:YAG) transparent ceramic considered as a potential solid-state laser material. Its thermal shock behavior was investigated by the standard water-quenching and indentation-quenching thermal shock measuring methods.

Influence of the Transparent Conductive Oxides on the P-OLEDs Behavior
ECS Transactions, 2012Multilayer polymer-organic light emitting diodes (P-OLEDs) were assembled with different transparent conductive oxide (TCO) and aluminum as the anode and cathode, respectively. Two types of TCOs, ITO (indium tin oxide) or FTO (fluorine tin oxide), with different sheet resistances, from 10 to 61 Ω/□, were used.

Dispersive Behavior of Plasmonic and Metamaterial Coating on Achieving Transparency
Journal of Electromagnetic Waves and Applications, 2008Dispersive effect through the Drude and Lorentz model is studied on achieving transparency and reduction of the total scattering cross section of a spherical scatterer. Some full wave numerical results in frequency domain are presented and illustrated that dispersion as a constraint, limiting the bandwidth of transparency phenomenon.

Incorporating Transparency During Trust-Guided Behavior Adaptation
2016An important consideration in human-robot teams is ensuring that the robot is trusted by its teammates. Without adequate trust, the robot may be underutilized or disused, potentially exposing human teammates to dangerous situations. We have previously investigated an agent that can assess its own trustworthiness and adapt its behavior accordingly.

Dielectric metamolecules with ultra-narrowband light transparency behaviors
Materials Letters, 2016Abstract Materials with ultra-narrowband light transparent window are desirable for applications in optoelectronics. Due to the intrinsic loss in the traditional metallic nanostructures, the plasmonic or electromagnetically induced light transparent spectrum is with a typically broad bandwidth.

Transparent behavior of aluminum nanoparticle compacts at microwave frequencies
Journal of Applied Physics, 2008Aluminum nanoparticles are formed into compacts, and electromagnetic wave reflectance and transmittance of the compacts are measured in a microwave frequency range. The dielectriclike behavior of the compact, which transmits an electromagnetic wave with quite a small loss, is observed.

Integrity, Transparency, and Ethical Behavior Always Matter
2018A leader’s candor and conduct, especially when no one else is watching, are each very much connected to the tenets of ethical leadership. This chapter discusses the significance of integrity and transparency as ethical imperatives and why smart leaders must prioritize them.

Eliciting Requirements for Improving Users’ Behavior Using Transparency
2018A software system is developed for satisfying requirements of stakeholders. Each requirement will be never satisfied without the collaboration of several components such as the system, devices and people interacting with them, i.e. users. However, a user does not or cannot always behave toward the other components according to their expectations.

Impact Resistance Behavior of Polymer Nanocomposite Transparent Panels†
Journal of Composite Materials, 2008Projectile impact resistance of transparent solid polymer plates and composite panels, have been investigated. The functional form of impact resistance (tolerance), R, with number of sheets, n, in each panel as represented by R= At2n - Btn + C (with tn = nt, t being unit sheet thickness), has been assigned with appropriate physical processes ...

Behavioral Economists, Human-Computer Interactions and Research Transparency
SSRN Electronic Journal, 2017I model economists as being themselves behavioral, and not fully rational in how they implement their research. I characterize research results as a network graph of data analyses at the level of human-computer interactions that contain graph copies whenever the economist manifests behavioral shortcomings.
