Characterization of 3D metal printed cutting tool with transpiration cooling channels

open access: yesMaterials Research Express, 2023
This study characterizes the 3D-printed transpiration cooling (TC) channels in a single-point cutting tool to enhance lubrication and cooling at the cutting zones. Five different TC channels, namely two circular profiled channels (Designs 1-A & 1-B), two

Transpiration cooling of a hypersonic vehicle

open access: yes, 2021
In this thesis, a porous Ultra-High-Temperature-Ceramic (UHTC) made of zirconium diboride (ZrB2) is qualified for the purpose for transpiration cooling for the first time. Subsequently, the mixing mechanism between the coolant and a laminar, hypersonic boundary-layer gas at the wall downstream of a transpiration-cooled injector is investigated.

Effect of slip condition on vertical channel flow in the presence of radiation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mechanics and Engineering, 2016
An analysis is made on the three dimensional flow of a viscous incompressible fluid through a vertical channel in the presence of radiation in slip flow regime. The right plate is subjected to an uniform injection and the left plate to a periodic suction

Mathematical Modeling of the Heat Transfer Process in Porous Cooling Systems Under Influence Low Energy Disturbances

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2016
The paper considers the interaction of a high-temperature flow with a transpiration cooling system exposed to low-energy perturbations of a coolant. It studies the possibility of controlling the heat exchange process in a composite material.
