Autologous Alternatives to Facial Transplantation
Journal of Reconstructive Microsurgery, 2011Advances in autologous reconstructive concepts, principles, and techniques allow us to close wounds of almost any size. Autologous chondrocyte transplantation of the ankle
Foot and Ankle Clinics, 2003Autologous chondrocyte transplantation has been used in the treatment of chondral and osteochondral lesions in a limited number of patients. The results are promising over a medium-length follow-up (2-6 years). Deeper involvement of the subchondral bone may need autologous bone grafting along with ACT.

Osteogenicity of autologous bone transplants in the goat
Transplantation, 2004Little is known about the specific mechanisms that make autologous graft bone (AG) superior to the current alternatives. A potential mechanism is the active bone formation by the osteoprogenitor cells within the AG. However, whether these cells survive the transplantation is questionable, especially in nonvascularized, clinically sized grafts.

Autologous bone marrow transplantation
Current Opinion in Oncology, 1993Very high-dose cytotoxic therapy requiring bone marrow transplantation is the most active treatment for most hematologic malignancies and appears to be the treatment of choice for most patients with these diseases at relapse. Autologous bone marrow transplantation and allogeneic bone marrow transplantation can generally be expected to yield similar ...
