The Morphology of Peripheral Nerve of Rats in the Area of Transplantation Of Autologous Nucleus Pulposus after Treatment with Adalimumab

open access: yesBolʹ, Sustavy, Pozvonočnik, 2013
Morphological analysis of the structural organization of the tibial branch of the sciatic nerve of rats in the area of transplantation of autologous nucleus pulposus after treatment with adalimumab showed that in animals there had been observed decrease ...

Prognostic value of thyroid hormone levels in patients evaluated for liver transplantation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
The thyroid hormones T4, T3, rT3 and TSH were assayed in 134 adult patients evaluated and accepted as potential liver transplant candidates at the Universty of Pittsburgh from March, 1981 to December, 1983.

Frailty in liver transplantation: An expert opinion statement from the American Society of Transplantation Liver and Intestinal Community of Practice

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Transplantation, 2019
Frailty has emerged as a powerful predictor of outcomes in patients with cirrhosis and has inevitably made its way into decision making within liver transplantation. In an effort to harmonize integration of the concept of frailty among transplant centers,

Establishment and optimization of the two‐step induction system for generating primordial germ cell‐like cells from chicken embryonic stem cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study optimizes a two‐step induction system to generate PGCLCs from chicken ESCs. The induced cells express germline markers and migrate to gonads in ovo, offering a novel approach for avian genetic resource conservation. Primordial germ cells (PGCs) are the progenitor cells of sperm and eggs.

Rethinking plastic waste: innovations in enzymatic breakdown of oil‐based polyesters and bioplastics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Plastic pollution remains a critical environmental challenge, and current mechanical and chemical recycling methods are insufficient to achieve a fully circular economy. This review highlights recent breakthroughs in the enzymatic depolymerization of both oil‐derived polyesters and bioplastics, including high‐throughput protein engineering, de novo ...

Day/night variations of myeloid and lymphoid cell subsets in the murine inguinal lymph node

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The circadian system is involved in the temporal regulation of the immune system. Our study reveals that two innate immune populations, NKT cells and neutrophils, predominate at the beginning of the day in healthy mice, highlighting how the time of day influences immune responses.

Association of GSTO2 (N142D) Genetic Polymorphism and Acute Rejection of Liver

open access: yesInternational Journal of Organ Transplantation Medicine, 2016
Background: Acute rejection is the main problem in liver transplantation that occurs in the first days or months of transplantation. It includes histological and cellular rejection. Acute histological rejection is confirmed by biopsy.

INF2‐Related Charcot–Marie–Tooth Disease in a Japanese Cohort: Genetic and Clinical Insights

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background INF2 mutations cause focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) and Charcot–Marie–Tooth disease (CMT). Accurate genetic diagnosis is critical, as INF2‐related FSGS is typically resistant to immunotherapy yet rarely recurs after transplantation, and its associated neuropathy can mimic treatable immune‐mediated disorders such as ...
