Optimizing mowing strategies for controlling Lupinus polyphyllus Lindl. in roadside habitats

open access: yesRestoration Ecology, EarlyView.
Abstract Introduction Road verges provide refuge habitats for semi‐natural grassland species but can also facilitate the spread of invasive alien plant species such as Lupinus polyphyllus Lindl., which negatively impacts biodiversity. Objectives We studied how different mowing regimes affect L.

Movement Behaviour of Three Rheophilic Cyprinids in a Culvert‐Fragmented Stream

open access: yesEcology of Freshwater Fish, Volume 36, Issue 1, January 2027.
ABSTRACT Many freshwater fish species rely on movement across unobstructed river systems to complete their life cycles. However, anthropogenic activities such as river regulation, dams, and culverts increasingly restrict fish movements by compromising river connectivity and altering habitat characteristics.

Temperature‐Sensitive Juvenile Fitness Traits Show Correlated and Genetically Defined Variation in a Heatwave‐Affected Marine Fish

open access: yesGlobal Change Biology Communications, Volume 1, Issue 4, December 2026.
Juvenile Pacific cod are sensitive to temperature, with lipid reserves and growth declining at high temperature (16°C). However, individuals that maintain the highest growth also have the greatest lipid reserves. This variation is partly associated with genetic differences, suggesting potential for genetic selection under future warming.

A Design of Experiments Approach to Optimizing RFID Deployment for Management of Sustainable Material Flow in Cyber–Physical Production Systems

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The transition to Cyber–Physical Production Systems (CPPS) requires reliable real-time identification of material flows, yet RFID performance in metal-rich industrial environments remains sensitive to hardware configuration and tag orientation.

Higher Energy Demands and Lower Body Condition in a Hot Spring: Comparing Relict Leopard Frogs at Two Thermally Contrasting Sites

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Zoology Part A: Ecological and Integrative Physiology, Volume 345, Issue 10, Page 1003-1013, December 2026.
ABSTRACT Following range‐wide decline, all remnant populations of the relict leopard frog (Rana onca) in the eastern Mojave Desert of the southwestern USA occupied geothermally influenced hot springs. In recent years, however, several large populations have been established at cold‐water sites.

Monitoring Changes in Sperm Concentration and Quality Help Improve Captive Breeding Outcomes of the Endangered Amphibian Rawlinsonia littlejohni

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Zoology Part A: Ecological and Integrative Physiology, Volume 345, Issue 10, Page 1078-1090, December 2026.
ABSTRACT Amphibians are among the most threatened taxonomic groups, with many species experiencing rapid declines that have resulted in small, isolated populations vulnerable to inbreeding depression and reduced fertility. One major outcome of inbreeding is lowered fecundity, often linked to morphological changes in gametes.

CLEAR Interference Cancellation in a Wideband Dual‐Channel Receiver for Independent Satellite Multi‐Connectivity Links

open access: yesInternational Journal of Satellite Communications and Networking, Volume 44, Issue 6, Page 689-699, November/December 2026.
ABSTRACT In this paper, the correlation learning estimation and adaptive reduction (CLEAR) of interference, an adaptive, blind and transparent interference compensation method applied in a wideband dual‐channel receiver, is studied for a pair of independent satellite multi‐connectivity links, using the same carrier frequency and signal bandwidth in use

Transponder Designs for Harmonic Radar Applications

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2015
This work presents a review on the concept of harmonic or secondary radar, where a tag or transponder is used to respond at a harmonic multiple of the incoming interrogation signal.
