The risk rate by ADR road transport of dangerous matters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The paper will be focused on the questions of ADR road transport of dangerous matters, especially on the risks estimation of transport of dangerous goods in the Czech Republic.

Spot‐14 and its paralog Spot‐14R regulate expression of metabolic and thermogenic pathway genes in murine brown and beige adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Spot‐14 and Spot‐14R play distinct roles in regulating metabolism in brown and beige adipocytes. While both influence lipid and glucose pathways, Spot‐14 uniquely controls thermogenic gene expression. This dual regulation balances energy storage and heat production, highlighting potential therapeutic targets for obesity and metabolic disorders. Spot 14

The Home Market Effect and the Agricultural Sector [PDF]

open access: yes
The "home market effect" (HME) is an essential topic of the new trade theory. Assuming the transport costs only for the manufacturing goods, Krugman (1980) shows that the country with bigger market size is a net exporter. The assumption of free transport

Urban Air Mobility: Viability of Hub-Door and Door-Door Movement by Air [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Owing to a century of innovation in connected and automated aircraft design, for the rst time in history, air transport presents a potential competitive alternative to road, for hub-to-door and door-to-door urban services.

STAT3 expression is reduced in cardiac pericytes in HFpEF and its loss reduces cellular adhesion and induces pericyte senescence

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) accounts for half of the heart failure cases. It is characterised by microvascular dysfunction, associated with reduced pericyte coverage and diminished STAT3 expression in pericytes. Loss of STAT3 impairs pericyte adhesion, promotes senescence, and activates a pro‐fibrotic gene program.

CLP Regulation and the transport of dangerous goods. [PDF]

open access: yesAnnali dell'Istituto superiore di sanita, 2011
Regulations concerning different modes of transport of dangerous goods are well harmonized at global level: they were then looked at as a model for developing Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS), (on which CLP Regulations is based).

Even Small Trade Costs Restore Efficiency in Tax Competition [PDF]

open access: yes
We introduce transport cost of trade in products into the classical Zodrow and Mieszkowski (1986) model of capital tax competition. It turns out that even small levels of transport cost lead to a complete breakdown of the seminal result, the ...

Ion channel function of polycystin‐2/polycystin‐1 heteromer revealed by structure‐guided mutagenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mutations in polycystin‐1 (PC1) or polycystin‐2 (PC2) cause autosomal‐dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD). We generated a novel gain‐of‐function PC2/PC1 heteromeric ion channel by mutating pore‐blocking residues. Moreover, we demonstrated that PC2 will preferentially assemble with PC1 to form heteromeric complexes when PC1 is co‐expressed ...

Autophagy in cancer and protein conformational disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Autophagy plays a crucial role in numerous biological processes, including protein and organelle quality control, development, immunity, and metabolism. Hence, dysregulation or mutations in autophagy‐related genes have been implicated in a wide range of human diseases.

How to Improve the Capture of Urban Goods Movement Data? [PDF]

open access: yes
The surveys specifically focused on the thorough knowledge of urban freight transport appeared about ten years ago. The local problematic of goods transport at local level was partially taken into account by the city planners and by the researchers ...
