Environmental Costs Account: a base for measuring sustainability in transport plans. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Each city need to develop sustainable transport plans according to its fu-ture developments. This means identifying the best policy package of transport measures that could produce more sustainable future scenarios: lowest environmental impact, but also ...

Mapping the evolution of mitochondrial complex I through structural variation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Respiratory complex I (CI) is crucial for bioenergetic metabolism in many prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of a conserved set of core subunits and additional accessory subunits that vary depending on the organism. Here, we categorize CI subunits from available structures to map the evolution of CI across eukaryotes. Respiratory complex I (CI)

Modeling and simulations of deformation and transport in PEM fuel cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Performance degradation and durability of PEM fuel cells depend strongly upon transport and deformation characteristics of their components especially the polymer membrane.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

A Scoping Indicator Identifying Potential Impacts of All-Inclusive MaaS Taxis on Other Modes in Manchester

open access: yesFindings, 2020
We present a spatial scoping indicator of the potential impacts of an all-inclusive taxi service as part of a plausible but hypothetical Mobility as a Service (MaaS) package in Manchester UK.

Selection the rational model of transport truck by the selective coal mining at the open pit Gacko [PDF]

open access: yesMining and Metallurgy Engineering Bor, 2017
This paper gives the selection of the optimal model of trucks for transport of coal, and seam waste at the OP Gacko in terms of selective exploitation. Mining of coal and seam waste is carried out in two exploitation zones, the central and roof zone, and

Molecular dynamics simulations of heat transport using machine-learned potentials: A mini-review and tutorial on GPUMD with neuroevolution potentials [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Physics
Molecular dynamics (MD) simulations play an important role in understanding and engineering heat transport properties of complex materials. An essential requirement for reliably predicting heat transport properties is the use of accurate and efficient ...

An intracellular transporter mitigates the CO2‐induced decline in iron content in Arabidopsis shoots

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study identifies a gene encoding a transmembrane protein, MIC, which contributes to the reduction of shoot Fe content observed in plants under elevated CO2. MIC is a putative Fe transporter localized to the Golgi and endosomal compartments. Its post‐translational regulation in roots may represent a potential target for improving plant nutrition ...

dodgr: An R Package for Network Flow Aggregation

open access: yesFindings, 2019
Allocation of flows throughout networks is a common problem in transport research, yet there are very few computational tools available, and almost no open source tools. We describe a new software package, ["dodgr"](https://github.com/atfutures/dodgr) (**
