ENGINEERING TRANSPORT BY CONCATENATED MAPS [PDF]

open access: yesFluctuation and Noise Letters, 2013
We present a generalized kick rotor model in which the phase of the kick can vary from kick to kick. This additional freedom allows one to control the transport in phase space. For a specific choice of kick-to-kick phases, we predict novel forms of accelerator modes which are potentially of high relevance for future experimental studies.

'Resilience thinking' in transport planning [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Resilience has been discussed in ecology for over forty years. While some aspects of resilience have received attention in transport planning, there is no unified definition of resilience in transportation. To define resilience in transportation, I trace

Flex-route demand response transit scheduling based on station optimization

open access: yesShenzhen Daxue xuebao. Ligong ban, 2022
In order to increase the proportion of passengers served by the flex-route demand response transit (DRT) and reduce its service cost, we propose an improved D-k-means clustering algorithm that based on DBSCAN clustering algorithm and k-means clustering ...

Analysis of vehicle trips and accidents on residential areal roads parallel to the main road (Traffic route analysis using ETC2.0 data and accident analysis using GIS information)

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2022
There are many vehicles passing through on main road. On main roads, various safety countermeasures are constructed for securing traffic safety of a large number of vehicles. For example, separate sidewalks and driveways, or constructing median strips to

Passenger evacuation during subway escalator malfunction under mass passenger flow

open access: yesShenzhen Daxue xuebao. Ligong ban
Subway stations are characterized by mass passenger flow, complex evacuation routes and limited underground space. Failure to evacuate passengers in a timely manner during emergency situations may lead to panic, serious safety accidents and property loss.
