Transport of pigs.

2000
The welfare of pigs during transport depends on many interacting factors, such as the condition of the animal, temperature, loading density, time in transit and other factors. Death losses during transport of pigs can vary from a low of 0.06% under good conditions to a high of 6.8% under very hot conditions.

Thyroid hormone transport by monocarboxylate transporters

Best Practice & Research Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, 2007
Thyroid hormone (TH) is essential for the normal development and metabolism of different tissues. TH action and metabolism take place intracellularly, which requires cellular uptake via transporters. Several transporter families have been identified, of which the monocarboxylate transporter (MCT) family deserves special attention.

Glucose Transporters in the Transepithelial Transport of Glucose

Journal of Electron Microscopy, 1996
Glucose transporters are integral membrane proteins that mediate the transport of glucose and structurally-related substances across the cellular membranes. Two families of glucose transporter have been identified: the facilitated-diffusion glucose transporter family (GLUT family), and the NA(+)-dependent glucose transporter one (SGLT family).

One solution to transporting the transport incubator

Proceedings of 17th International Conference of the Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2002
Most hospitals at one time or another have struggled with the problems associated with designing a functional, paediatric transport cart. More often than not an incubator and its associated equipment are piled on an adult stretcher in a hasty attempt to transport a critically ill patient.

Transport Characteristics of Urea Transporter-B

2014
UT-B represents the major urea transporter in erythrocytes, in addition to being expressed in kidney descending vasa recta, brain, spleen, ureter, bladder, and testis. Expression of urea transporter UT-B confers high urea permeability to mammalian erythrocytes.
