ABSTRACT Engineering living matter has great clinical potential to deliver functional replacement organs. However, clinical translation remains hampered by the current inability to maintain viability of clinically relevant‐sized constructs. During the pre‐vascular phase, implants rely on nutrient diffusion for survival, which is insufficient at ...

Cyclic to Random Transposition Shuffles [PDF]
Consider a permutation $\sigma\in S_n$ as a deck of cards numbered from 1 to $n$ and laid out in a row, where $\sigma_j$ denotes the number of the card that is in the $j$-th position from the left.\rm\ We define two cyclic to random transposition ...

Tin hexathiophosphate memristors leverage intrinsic nanopores together with a guided filament formation strategy to regulate titanium ion motion and switching behavior. The devices support reliable nonvolatile memory and reconfigurable logic‐in‐memory, demonstrating 14 Boolean logic functions in a single cell.

Photon Avalanching Nanoparticles: The Next Generation of Upconverting Nanomaterials?
This Perspective outlines the mechanistic foundations that enable photon‐avalanche (PA) behavior in lanthanide nanomaterials and contrasts them with emerging application spaces and forward‐looking design strategies. By bridging threshold engineering, energy‐transfer dynamics, and materials engineering, we provide a coherent roadmap for advancing the ...

The shape of guanine self‐assemblies is tuned by introducing alkyl (G8), fluoroalkyl (G8f), and oligoether (G8g) side chains into the G moiety. The scanning tunneling microscopy results and calculations show that the presence and type of the side chain strongly affect the G self‐assembly network.

An alternative approach to firms’ evaluation: expert systems and fuzzy logic [PDF]
Discounted Cash Flow techniques are the generally accepted methods for valuing firms. Such methods do not provide explicit acknowledgment of the value determinants and overlook their interrelations.

Auxeticity‑by‑Assembly converts freeform photovoltaics from cut‑defined layouts to assembly‑defined systems. Standardized interlocking units generate negative‑Poisson‑ratio, reconfigurable architectures, while hinge regions are wired by selectively activatable AgNW–GO@EGaIn composite interconnects and a folding‑enabled interconnector layer. A decimeter‑

Worlds of compliance: Why leading approaches to the implementation of EU legislation are only 'sometimes-true theories' [PDF]
This paper summarises the main theoretical findings of a large-scale qualitative project on the transposition, enforcement and application of six EU labour law Directives in fifteen member states.

Network algebra for synchronous dataflow [PDF]
We develop an algebraic theory of synchronous dataflow networks. First, a basic algebraic theory of networks, called BNA (Basic Network Algebra), is introduced. This theory captures the basic algebraic properties of networks.
