Heart transplantation for congenitally corrected transposition of the great arteries

open access: yes, 2014
A 36-year-old male had congenitally corrected transposition of the great arteries (cc-TGA) with heart failure underwent heart transplantation. Due to the abnormal alignment of the great arteries in cc-TGA, the transplantation required technical ...

Multi‐omics–driven precision medicine

open access: yesiMeta, EarlyView.
Multi‐omics‐driven precision medicine (MODPM) provides a multiscale, continuously learnable framework that integrates genomics, epigenomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, microbiome profiles, and clinical data. Powered by artificial intelligence and foundation models, MODPM enables cross‐modal representation learning, contextual modeling ...

Complete transposition of the aorta and pulmonary artery in a Belgian Blue crossbreed calf: A case report

open access: yesBMC Veterinary Research, 2011
Background Complete transposition of the great arteries is a congenital cardiac malformation occasionally encountered in cattle and other species. The objective of the present report was to provide a detailed clinical, echocardiographic and post mortem ...

Incidental Detection of Portal Venous Gas During POCUS in a Neonate With Necrotizing Enterocolitis and Intestinal Perforation: A Case Report

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Ultrasound, EarlyView.
Point‐of‐care ultrasound performed at the bedside identified hepatic portal venous gas in a critically ill neonate, prompting urgent evaluation and revealing intestinal perforation due to necrotizing enterocolitis. This case highlights the potential of POCUS to accelerate diagnosis when clinical signs are subtle or nonspecific.

The reverse boomerang sign: a marker for first-trimester transposition of great arteries

open access: yes, 2019
Objective: To describe a new sonographic marker of transposition of great arteries (TGA) during the first-trimester screening. Methods: We reviewed six cases of TGA from 2013 to 2016 in which an antenatal diagnosis of TGA at first-trimester screening (11–

Structural Covariance Analysis of Altered Brain Development in Neonates With Congenital Heart Disease After Surgery

open access: yesJournal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Brain development is altered in neonates with congenital heart disease (CHD), with well‐characterised reductions in regional brain volumes and enlargement of CSF spaces. However, perioperative morphological changes remain incompletely understood. Purpose To identify brain regions showing spatial patterns of coordinated expansion and

The impacts of energy and protein provision on anthropometric changes in infants with critical congenital heart disease

open access: yesJournal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition, EarlyView.
Abstract Objectives Malnutrition in patients with critical congenital heart disease (CCHD) is associated with worse outcomes, however, feeding challenges, and changes in metabolic demands obscure the relationship between nutrient intake and growth in this patient population.

Larger lung volumes in fetuses with transposition of the great arteries and an intact ventricular septum compared to heart healthy fetuses and fetuses with transposition of the great arteries and a ventricular septal defect

open access: yes
Background: Complex CHDs may impair organ development. One proposed mechanism is an altered relationship between blood flow, oxygen delivery, and subsequent organ growth.

Scalable Large Field‐of‐view 3D Photoacoustic Ultrasound Imaging With Digital Multiplexing for Human Extremities

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
A digitally multiplexed, large‐aperture photoacoustic and ultrasound imaging architecture is presented to overcome the fundamental limited‐view artifact inherent in conventional arrays. By significantly broadening the structural detection coverage, this scalable platform enables high‐fidelity 3D visualization of human extremities within a single ...

Corrected transposition of the great arteries with previously unreported cardiac anomalies

open access: yes, 2012
The corrected transposition of the great arteries is a rare congenital cardiac anomaly characterised by atrio-ventricular and ventriculo-arterial discordance and is related to the largest incidence of cardiological complications.
