Transposition of the great vessels
The American Journal of Cardiology, 1968Abstract Twenty-nine cases of transposition of the great vessels were studied, 15 confirmed by necropsy and 4 by angiocardiography. They were divided into three groups: (1) isolated transposition; (2) transposition with pulmonary stenosis and other associated malformations; and (3) transposition with biventricular origin of the pulmonary artery and ...

Complete transposition of the great vessels
The Journal of Pediatrics, 1953Summary Complete transposition of the aortaand pulmonary arteries produces a characteristic clinical pattern consisting of (1) cyanosis which begins immediately after birth, (2) increased blood flow and blood content in the pulmonary vessels, (3) right ventricular preponderance, (4) progressive cardiac enlargement, (5) retardation of growth and ...

Congenitally Corrected Transposition of the Great Vessels
Radiology, 1962Congenitally corrected transposition of the great vessels is an important basic anomaly of the heart which has only recently received wide clinical attention. First described by von Rokitansky in 1875 (33), the anomaly remained a clinical curiosity until modern surgical advances in the treatment of congenital heart disease made accurate diagnosis ...

Diagnosis of Complete Transposition of the Great Vessels
Radiology, 1951In complete transposition of the great vessels the aorta arises from the right ventricle and the pulmonary artery from the left ventricle. There are thus two closed circulations: in one the systemic blood enters the right heart from the vena cava and returns directly to the systemic circulation once more through the aorta; in the other the pulmonary ...

Ultrasonic assessment of transposition of the great vessels
Progress in Cardiovascular Diseases, 1978Echocardiography can provide important diagnostic information that identifies the transposition complexes, evaluates relative pressure levels in the pulmonic and systemic circuits, describes subpulmonic obstruction, and identifies some associated congenital anomalies.

[Transposition of great vessels].
Thoraxchirurgie, vaskulare Chirurgie, 1975Venous inflow stenoses either pulmonary or systemic represents a major complication after Mustard's operation. In order to eliminate such stenoses two modified methods of atrial in version have been developed using no or a minimum of foreign material. The indication for each method is different.

Echocardiographic manifestations of d-transposition of the great vessels
The American Journal of Cardiology, 1973Echocardiograms were obtained from 16 patients with d -transposition of the great vessels proved at catheterization. These echocardiograms were compared with those obtained from 74 children who had congenital heart disease proved at catheterization but no transposition of the great vessels and those from 60 normal children.
