Enhanced Pain Management With Combined EMLA Patch and Local Anesthetic Infiltration in Transradial Angiography. [PDF]
Among 275 elective transradial coronary angiography procedures, combined EMLA patch plus local lidocaine infiltration was associated with the lowest procedural and 24 h access‐site pain. EMLA application for 100–300 min was associated with lower pain, while BMI ≥ 30 kg/m2 predicted higher pain, supporting individualized analgesic strategies.

Distal Radial Access: Consensus Report of the First Korea-Europe Transradial Intervention Meeting.
Among patients undergoing percutaneous coronary procedures, transradial access, compared with transfemoral access, is associated with a reduced risk for complications including mortality, especially in higher risk patients. However, transradial access is

Radial Versus Femoral Access for Diagnostic Coronary Angiography: Insights From a Tertiary Academic Center in Johannesburg. [PDF]
ABSTRACT Background The radial artery is the preferred access for performing diagnostic coronary angiograms (DCA). However, data on the safety and efficacy of radial compared to femoral access in low‐ and middle‐income countries is limited. Aims This study aims to evaluate the safety and efficacy of radial versus femoral access in patients referred for

Cardiac catheterisation: avoiding common pitfalls with transradial vascular access.
Cardiac catheterisation is a common invasive procedure. Transradial vascular access is the default approach due to a reduced risk of vascular and bleeding complications. Although transradial vascular access complications are infrequent it is important to

Transradial Approach for Left Ventricular Endomyocardial Biopsy [PDF]
BackgroundLeft ventricular endomyocardial biopsy (LV-EMB) may offer a superior diagnostic yield compared with right ventricular endomyocardial biopsy (RV-EMB) in conditions predominantly affecting the LV but is underused compared with RV-EMB. Despite the
