Late Reverse Pupillary Block After Scleral Fixation With Yamane Technique: A Case Report. [PDF]
Introduction The Yamane technique is a transconjunctival, sutureless method for scleral fixation of intraocular lenses (IOL) in cases lacking capsular support. While widely adopted because of its efficacy and safety, rare late complications such as IOL subluxation have been reported.

Long-term results after sutureless intrascleral fixation of the Carlevale intraocular lens: Changes in scleral pocket thickness over time. [PDF]
Abstract Purpose To investigate the long‐term effects and dynamic changes in scleral thickness above the T‐haptic after sutureless scleral‐fixated intraocular lens (sSFIOL) implantation using the FIL‐SFF Carlevale lens. Setting Single‐centre, single‐surgeon, prospective clinical trial, Department of Ophthalmology, Medical University of Vienna, Austria.

Novel Sutureless Scleral Fixated IOL for Inadequate or Absent Capsular Support
Purpose. To evaluate the clinical outcome and safety profile of a new sutureless scleral fixation (SSF) technique using a single‐piece foldable acrylic Carlevale intraocular lens. Methods. In this case study, 27 eyes of 27 patients were implanted with an SSF single‐piece IOL because of inadequate or absent capsular support.

Surgical Management of Paediatric Aphakia in the Absence of Sufficient Capsular Support
There are several available options for the demanding surgical correction of paediatric aphakia without sufficient capsular support. The literature suggests the implantation of a transscleral fixated posterior chamber‐intraocular lens (PCIOL), an intrascleral fixated PCIOL, an iris‐sutured intraocular lens (IOL), or an anterior chamber iris‐claw IOL ...

Supporting IOL’S in a Deficient Capsular Environment: The Tale of No “Tails”
Purpose. To evaluate the efficacy and safety of the following three distinct surgical procedures for secondary IOL implantation without capsular support: Iris‐claw lens, flanged transscleral fixated IOLs (Yamane technique), and sutureless transscleral hook IOL fixation (Carlevale IOL). Materials and Methods.
