Intrascleral Suture Anchoring: A Flapless/Grooveless Four‐Point Intraocular Lens Fixation Technique

open access: yesJournal of Ophthalmology, Volume 2020, Issue 1, 2020., 2020
Purpose. We describe a minimally invasive suture fixation technique for four‐point fixation of intraocular lenses (IOLs) in the treatment of aphakic eyes, namely, the intrascleral suture anchoring technique. Neither scleral flaps nor large conjunctival dissections are required. Methods. This study included 11 eyes (11 patients).

Comparison of Different IOL Types in the Flanged IOL Fixation Technique

open access: yesJournal of Ophthalmology, Volume 2020, Issue 1, 2020., 2020
Purpose. To compare short‐term clinical outcomes between two different intraocular lens (IOL) types in the flanged IOL fixation technique. Methods. This study was a retrospective case series and included the patients who underwent flanged IOL fixation between June 2017 and July 2018 at the Hiroshima University Hospital.

Ectopic intraocular lens: An unusual complication of cataract surgery

open access: yesIndian Journal of Ophthalmology, 2014
We wish to report an unusual complication of intraocular lens (IOL) insertion following uneventful phacoemulsification. After successful phacoemulsification surgery, a hydrophobic acrylic IOL was loaded in the injector for insertion into the capsular bag.

Visual outcomes of posterior chamber intraocular lens intrascleral fixation in the setting of postoperative and posttraumatic aphakia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
BACKGROUND: Several techniques for fixation of the posterior chamber intraocular lens (IOL) have been developed. We evaluate long-term functional outcomes and safety of posterior chamber IOL implantation using Hoffman scleral haptic fixation and ...
