Real-time three-dimensional ultrasound : a valuable new tool in preoperative assessment of complex congenital cardiac disease [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Evaluating complex cardiac defects in small children preoperatively requires multiple diagnostic procedures including echocardiography, and also invasive methods such as cardiac catheterisation, computer-tomography and magnetic resonance imaging.

Transthoracic Real‐Time Three‐Dimensional Echocardiography Using a Fan‐Like Scanning Approach For Data Acquisition

open access: yes, 1995
Three-dimensional echocardiography is an emerging clinical method to assess cardiovascular disorders. The feasibility of using a linear mode scanning (parallel slicing) for transthoracic data acquisition has been demonstrated. In this study, we evaluated

Methylglyoxal Accumulation is Associated with Brain Inflammation after Myocardial Infarction with Sex and Regional Differences

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies that methylglyoxal may play an important role in heart‐brain interactions after myocardial infarction. Myocardial infarction leads to increased levels of methylglyoxal‐derived advanced glycation end‐products (MG‐H1) in the brain of mice, which is associated with loss of blood‐brain barrier integrity and neuroinflammation ...

Accuracy of Transthoracic Echocardiography in Detecting Persistent Left Superior Vena Cava against the Cardiac Computed Tomography Scan

open access: yesJournal of the Indian Academy of Echocardiography & Cardiovascular Imaging
Introduction: Detection of the persistent left superior vena cava (LSVC) is essential to diagnosing pediatric congenital heart diseases (CHDs). Transthoracic echocardiography is the most commonly used diagnostic tool for CHDs.

Transthoracic Doppler echocardiography – noninvasive diagnostic window for coronary flow reserve assessment

open access: yesCardiovascular Ultrasound, 2003
This review focuses on transthoracic Doppler echocardiography as noninvasive method used to assess coronary flow reserve (CFR) in a wide spectrum of clinical settings. Transthoracic Doppler echocardiography is rapidly gaining appreciation as popular tool

Brown Adipocyte Sheets Alleviate Myocardial Ischemia–Reperfusion Injury Through NRG4–ErbB4–Dependent Ferroptosis Inhibition

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Brown adipocyte sheets are engineered to protect the heart against myocardial ischemia–reperfusion injury by restraining ferroptosis. Upon transplantation onto the cardiac surface, they improve cardiac function, limit infarction and fibrosis, and enhance angiogenesis.

Focus Assessment of Transthoracic Echocardiography post septostomy Procedure in Patients Undergoing Ablation of Left Atrial Supraventricular Tachycardia

open access: yesمجلة كلية الطب, 2022
Background: Echocardiography has an important role to follow up patients with Iatrogenic atrial septal defect (IASD) and after Catheter ablation during electro-physiological study.

ZER1 Restrains Pressure Overload‐Induced Cardiac Remodeling by Targeting DVL2 for Gly/N‐Degron‐Dependent Degradation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Pressure overload suppresses cardiomyocyte ZER1, weakening CRL2Zer1‐mediated DVL2 degradation and allowing DVL2 accumulation. Elevated DVL2 activates CaMKII‐HDAC4‐MEF2C signaling, drives fetal gene reactivation, and promotes pathological remodeling.
