SUMMARY In dogs, the WDF and WNR scattergrams from the Sysmex XN‐1000V enable a highly presumptive interpretation of mastocytemia. This is the first description of abnormal circulating mast cells using the Sysmex XN‐1000V, which appears to function similarly to the previous analyzer, the Sysmex XT‐2000iV.

Whole-thorax irradiation induces hypoxic respiratory failure, pleural effusions and cardiac remodeling [PDF]
To study the mechanisms of death following a single lethal dose of thoracic radiation, WAG/RijCmcr (Wistar) rats were treated with 15 Gy to the whole thorax and followed until they were morbid or sacrificed for invasive assays at 6 weeks.

Occlusion of an Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt With an Amplatzer Septal Occluder Device in a Dog
This is the first description, to the authors’ knowledge, of the use of an Amplatzer occluder device for a large intrahepatic shunt. In this case, shunt attenuation was successful with no major complications. Instead of accumulating coils or having to proceed with open laparotomy, the use of such device could be made routine for bigger shunt vessels of

Tolerance and safety evaluation of N, N-dimethylglycine, a naturally occurring organic compound, as a feed additive in broiler diets [PDF]
N, N-dimethylglycine (DMG) is a tertiary amino acid that naturally occurs as an intermediate metabolite in choline-to-glycine metabolism. The objective of the present trial was to evaluate tolerance, safety and bioaccumulation of dietary DMG in broilers ...
