AUTOMATIC CHARACTERIZATION OF NEEDLEPUNCHED FELTS BY CONTENT BASED IMAGE RETRIEVAL - CBIR [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of the University of Oradea: Fascicle of Textiles, Leatherwork, 2018
The needled felts whose fibrous bats had been gotten by the classic carding process give us fabrics in which staple fibres follow a marked preferential direction of the machine workflow. This direction is named, as machine direction, main direction or MD

Dusty globules in the Crab Nebula

open access: yes, 2016
From existing broad-band images obtained with the Hubble Space Telescope, we located 92 globules, for which we derived positions, dimensions, orientations, extinctions, masses, proper motions, and their distributions. The globules have mean radii ranging

Digital transversal filter architecture

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1985
A fast and efficient architecture is described for the realisation of a pipelined, fully parallel digital transversal filter in VLSI. The order of summation is changed such that no explicit multiplication is seen, gated accumulators are used, and the coefficients are circulated.

Predicting PSR Filters by Transverse Relaxation Enhancements [PDF]

open access: yesAnalytical Chemistry, 2014
The paramagnetic spin relaxation (PSR) filter allows the suppression of the NMR resonances of individual components in mixtures according to their Gd(3+)-complexing ability. The difficulty in predicting this property hampers, however, the widespread application of this filter.

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

Out-of-Band Multi-Notch Generation in RF Filters Through Parallelization

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Microwaves
A simple technique for frequency-static multi-notch/transmission-zero (TZ) creation in RF filters with single- and dual-band bandpass transfer functions is presented.

The PI3Kδ inhibitor roginolisib (IOA‐244) preserves T‐cell function and activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Identification of novel PI3K inhibitors with limited immune‐related adverse effects is highly sought after. We found that roginolisib and idelalisib inhibit chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) cells and Treg suppressive functions to similar extents, but roginolisib affects cytotoxic T‐cell function and promotion of pro‐inflammatory T helper subsets to a

Double-split-electrode transversal filter

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1977
A novel structure for onchip tap-weight implementation in integrated c.c.d.-transversal-filter applications is presented. The new ‘double-split-electrodersquo; structure provides improved filter performance over the common-split-electrode technique by reducing the common-mode signal, sensing electrode capacitance and noise pickup.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

New c.c.d. programmable transversal filter

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1977
A c.c.d. transversal-filter structure is described which is capable of processing signals at high data rates. The tap weights can be programmed as digital words. A 32-stage prototype device has been tested at clock rates up to 20 MHz; operation at even higher data rates appears feasible.
