Energetics of the distribution of cell wall in wood based on an eigenvalue analysis
Wood is a highly heterogeneous material characterized by a number of properties that vary significantly among samples. Even in woods of the same density, substantial differences in properties show up depending on the distribution pattern of their cell ...

This work shows that the mechanical performance of multimaterial digital light processing (DLP) printed thermoset composites is governed by resin compatibility and interfacial design rather than spatial patterning alone. Brittle and ductile resin combinations produced premature interfacial failure, while graded interfaces and mechanically compatible ...

Influence of welding parameters on a transverse distortion [PDF]
In my bachelor thesis is described a theory of internal tensions and distortions during welding. My thesis also contains technological and structural principals used to minimalize them and methods used for elimination of internal tensions. There are also

X‐ray computed tomography reveals how process‐induced defects evolve from green to sintered states in Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF)‐manufactured 17‐4PH stainless steel. Internal porosity, weakest cross‐sections, and fracture locations show strong correlation with tensile performance, demonstrating the potential of computed tomography (CT)‐based ...

The capping technology of low alloy steel SG610E 250 mm x2 000 mm continuous casting tail slab is studied. The results show that with traditional water-cooling capping process, there are severe shrinkage cavities at distance 2 000 mm from the slab end ...

Experiments and thermophysical simulations were conducted to investigate the electron beam powder bed fusion electron beam (PBF‐EB/M) process for the γ′‐strengthened nickel‐based superalloy Inconel 738LC. The results demonstrate the impact of process‐induced microstructural variations on high‐temperature mechanical behavior, providing a basis for ...

Manufacturing problems such as heat treatment‐induced cracking hinder the widespread application of the laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) process to superalloys. In this study, cracks in the LPBF components of Inconel 738LC superalloy are characterized after heat treatment at various temperature ranges, revealing two distinct cracking behaviors.

A parametric study of the development of transverse deck cracking [PDF]
Bridges and especially bridge decks experience problems of transverse cracking and deterioration. The causes of early age cracking are mainly due to plastic shrinkage, temperature effects, autogenous shrinkage, and drying shrinkage.
