Australian & New Zealand Journal of Psychiatry, 1967The literature in regard to transsexualism and transvestitism is briefly reviewed including considerations of possible aetiological influences. The need for large scale and controlled comparative investigations is indicated. A number of questions to be considered in studying these disorders are stated.

The diagnosis and treatment of transvestites and transsexuals
Journal of Sex and Marital Therapy, 1975Transvestism and transsexualism are defined. The incidence of both as well as male versus female ratios are discussed. Etiology of each is considered. Psychotherapists can be used for proper diagnosis and couseling and, on occasion, for therapy for transvestites. Methods for this therapy are suggested.
