Interferometric detection of a single vortex in a dilute Bose-Einstein condensate

open access: yes, 2001
Using two radio frequency pulses separated in time we perform an amplitude division interference experiment on a rubidium Bose-Einstein condensate. The presence of a quantized vortex, which is nucleated by stirring the condensate with a laser beam, is ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

MODELING OF INTERDIFFUSION AND PHASE FORMATION IN THE THIN-FILM TWO-LAYER SYSTEM OF POLYCRYSTALLINE OXIDES TITANIUM AND COBALT

open access: yesКонденсированные среды и межфазные границы, 2019
Purpose. A model of reactive interdiffusion in a bilayer system of polycrystalline oxides of two metals with moving and stationary components in each phase is proposed. The model develops Darken theory of interdiffusion in a binary system with unlimited

Pinning Induced Fluctuations on Driven Vortices

open access: yes, 2005
We use a simple model to study the long time fluctuations induced by random pinning on the motion of driven non--interacting vortices. We find that vortex motion seen from the co--moving frame is diffusive and anisotropic, with velocity dependent ...

Microfluidic electro‐viscoelastic manipulation of extracellular vesicles

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The electro‐viscoelastic manipulation as a potential method for separation of particles based on size. The particles introduced as a sheath flow migrate to the channel center under the influence of simultaneously applied electric field and pressure driven flow.

Divergence – Is it Geography? [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper tests directly a geography and growth model using regional data for Europe, the US, and Japan during di®erent time periods. We set up a standard geography and growth model with a poverty trap and derive a log- linearized growth equation that ...

Autophagosome marker, LC3, is released extracellularly via several distinct pathways

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study establishes a novel HiBiT‐tagging system for ultrasensitive detection of LC3, revealing multiple pathways for its extracellular secretion. It demonstrates that LC3 is released via both autophagy‐dependent and ‐independent mechanisms, including a novel route for nonlipidated LC3‐I.

SIRT4 positively regulates autophagy via ULK1, but independently of HDAC6 and OPA1

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cells expressing SIRT4 (H161Y), a catalytically inactive mutant of the sirtuin SIRT4, fail to upregulate LC3B‐II and exhibit a reduced autophagic flux under stress conditions. Interestingly, SIRT4(H161Y) promotes phosphorylation of ULK1 at S638 and S758 that are associated with inhibition of autophagy initiation.

On thermoluminescence mechanism and energy leakage in Lu2O3:Tb,V storage phosphor

open access: yesOptical Materials: X, 2019
The energy storage properties of Lu2O3:Tb,V sintered materials when exposed to X-rays were investigated for the first time using a number of thermoluminescent techniques. Thermoluminescence was generated exclusively by the Tb3+ ions, which served also as
