Plasma Pharmacokinetic Profile of Fipronil 1% Pour‐On in Cattle: Photodegradation and the Sustained Systemic Persistence of Fipronil Sulfone

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Pharmacology and Therapeutics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study characterized the long‐term pharmacokinetic profile of a 1% fipronil pour‐on formulation in Nellore bulls under field conditions. Seventeen animals received a single topical dose (1 mg/kg), and plasma concentrations of fipronil and its metabolites (sulfone and desulfinyl) were monitored for 175 days using LC–MS/MS.

Pharmacokinetics of Orally Administered Clonidine in Dogs

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Pharmacology and Therapeutics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Clonidine is an α‐2 agonist shown to be both well tolerated and useful in the treatment of canine fear‐based disorders, although it is perceived to have a short duration of action. Clonidine is available in regular release and extended‐release formulations, but canine pharmacokinetic (PK) and pharmacodynamic (PD) data on any clonidine ...

Diurnal Variation and Impairment of Postprandial Glucose‐Insulin Responses and Lipid Rhythms in Simulated Shift Work

open access: yesNutrition Bulletin, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Shift work is associated with insulin resistance, dyslipidaemia and metabolic syndrome, but how consecutive meals at the same clock times differentially shape postprandial metabolism in day‐ and night‐shifts remains unclear. This study used a unique simulated shift work intervention with four consecutive meals and high‐resolution sampling to ...

Short‐term soil responses and site conditions to inverted mounding on peatland linear features in Alberta, Canada

open access: yesRestoration Ecology, EarlyView.
Abstract Introduction Seismic lines represent one of the most extensive and persistent anthropogenic disturbances in boreal peatlands, limiting forest regeneration and altering key ecosystem functions. Inverted mounding is increasingly applied to elevate planting microsites above shallow water tables, yet evidence on short‐ to medium‐term biophysical ...

Altered Pharmacokinetics and Delayed Sputum Conversion in Tuberculosis Patients Co‐Infected With HIV

open access: yesTropical Medicine &International Health, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background HIV co‐infection affects host responses and pharmacokinetics (PK) of tuberculosis (TB) treatment. This study assessed the PK of first‐line anti‐TB drugs and clinical outcomes in patients with and without HIV co‐infection. Methods In this prospective observational study, 61 adults with sputum‐positive pulmonary TB, either confirmed ...
