Approximations of Fuzzy Numbers by General Trapezoidal Fuzzy Numbers
2013Recently, many scholars investigated interval, triangular, trapezoidal, and semi-trapezoidal approximations of fuzzy numbers. These researches can be grouped into two classes: one is to study approximations of fuzzy numbers without any constraint; the other one is to study approximations preserving some attributes. In this paper, we propose two general

The median for a trapezoidal fuzzy number
Microelectronics Reliability, 1994Abstract In the case where a trapezoidal fuzzy number is adopted as fuzzy data in the fuzzy problem, the representative ordinary number has been proposed as an average and applied in various fields of problems. In this study, the median of the trapezoidal fuzzy number is proposed besides the representative ordinary number and explained by several ...

Measuring Distance of Fuzzy Numbers by Trapezoidal Fuzzy Numbers
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2010Fuzzy numbers and more generally linguistic values are approximate assessments, given by experts and accepted by decisionāmakers when obtaining value that is more accurate is impossible or unnecessary. Distance between two fuzzy numbers plays an important role in linguistic decisionāmaking.

Adjustment of Trapezoidal Fuzzy Numbers Matrix
2010 Second WRI Global Congress on Intelligent Systems, 2010In this paper, a method of adjusting trapezoidal fuzzy numbers matrix according as consistent rule is studied. The main idea is that a barycenter matrix is introduced in order to adjust the inconsistent matrix. In detail, if the consistency of barycenter matrix does not dissatisfy the requirement, we can construct consistent matrixes by the elements ...

The Symmetric Trapezoidal Approximations of Fuzzy Numbers
2010 International Conference on Computational and Information Sciences, 2010The nearest symmetric trapezoidal approximation is presented for simplifying calculations of fuzzy numbers, which possesses the following properties: the centroid point invariance, ambuguity invariance, width invariance, translation invariance, sc-ale invariance. Numerical results also show that the presented method is valid.

Weighted semi-trapezoidal approximations of fuzzy numbers
Fuzzy Sets and Systems, 2011The author embeds fuzzy numbers into a Hilbert space \(H\) for computing their weighted semi-trapezoidal approximations via best approximations in a closed convex subset of \(H\). Formulas of matricial type are given, thus improving results of \textit{A. I. Ban} [Fuzzy Sets Syst. 160, No.~21, 3027--3047 (2009; Zbl 1183.03047); ibid.

Circumcenter of centroid in ranking fuzzy number: A case of generalized trapezoidal fuzzy numbers
2015 IEEE International Conference on Fuzzy Systems (FUZZ-IEEE), 2015Many approaches have been proposed to quest appropriate methods in ranking fuzzy numbers. Due to the flexibility of fuzzy numbers, most of these methods are not able to calculate all kinds of ranking fuzzy numbers and some of them give inconsistent and counter intuitive results.
