A Numerical Study of Initiation and Migration of Trapped Oil in Capillaries with Noncircular Cross Sections

open access: yesGeofluids, 2019
To clarify the initiation and migration mechanisms of a discontinuous oil phase in pores, a numerical study was performed to interpret the starting phenomenon and flowing rules of oil trapped in capillaries that have noncircular cross sections.

Rational Fine‐Tuning of MOF Pore Metrics: Enhanced SO2 Capture and Sensing with Optimal Multi‐Site Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A pore tuning strategy to amplify the multi‐site MOF‐SO2 interactions is proposed to achieve an enhanced trace SO2 capture and chemiresistive sensing in highly stable isostructural DMOFs by annelating benzene rings. This work provides a facile strategy to achieve tailor‐made stable MOF materials for specific multifunctional applications.

Effect of Trapped Annular Pressure on Failure of Cement Sheath Sealing

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2020
In order to solve the potential failure of cement sheath sealing caused by trapped annular pressure variations in deep-water high temperature and high pressure (HTHP) wells, the law of variation of trapped annular pressure generated by different media ...

Understanding the Impact of Open-Framework Conglomerates on Water-Oil Displacements: Victor Interval of the Ivishak Reservoir, Prudhoe Bay Field, Alaska [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The Victor Unit of the Ivishak Formation in the Prudhoe Bay Oilfield is characterized by high net-to-gross fluvial sandstones and conglomerates. The highest permeability is found within sets of cross-strata of open-framework conglomerate (OFC).

Near‐Infrared Emitting Lanthanide Catecholate Giant Single Crystals – Morphology Control and Photon Down‐Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Controlled syntheses of lanthanide coordination polymers based on the dihydroxybenzoquinone (DHBQ) organic linker afforded large single crystals of Ln‐DHBQ CPs (Ln = Yb, Nd). A novel structural variant of Yb‐DHBQ is identified by means of single crystal diffraction analysis.

Tuning the Dielectric Properties of Individual Clay Nanosheets by Interlayer Composition: Toward Nano‐Electret Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The dielectric properties of clays are studied on the level of individual monolayers and functional double stacks. The material breakdown characteristics and charge storage performance are analyzed. For illustration, a defined charge pattern representing a cuneiform character is produced, written into a microscopic clay tile, referencing the origins of

Multi-objective Optimization Design of Gear Pump with High Trapped-oil Performance

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2018
The optimization design for solving trapped-oil pressure relief of gear pump under higher speed is studied, taking the modulus, tooth number and modification coefficient as optimization variable,by the analysis of the maximum trapped-oil volume and maximum

Influence of the pore space structure and wettability on residual gas saturation

open access: yesGeoresursy, 2020
A significant part of hydrocarbon deposits in Russia is in the late stage of development. The distribution of residual oil and gas reserves is determined by the properties of the holding rocks.
