A comparison of the trauma score, the revised trauma score, and the pediatric trauma score
Annals of Emergency Medicine, 1989We compared the abilities of the Trauma Score (TS), the Revised Trauma Score (RTS), and the Pediatric Trauma Score (PTS) to retrospectively identify severely injured children. TS, RTS, and PTS were computed on admission for 1,334 consecutive blunt and penetrating trauma victims 0 to 14 years old.

The Trauma Score (TS), a simple physiological measure of injury severity, is presented as a modification of the previously reported Triage Index by consensus physician peer review. Performance of the Trauma Score is presented as an index of injury severity both alone and in combination with an anatomic index of injury severity, the Injury Severity ...

A Revision of the Trauma Score
The Journal of Trauma: Injury, Infection, and Critical Care, 1989The Trauma Score (TS) has been revised. The revision includes Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS), systolic blood pressure (SBP), and respiratory rate (RR) and excludes capillary refill and respiratory expansion, which were difficult to assess in the field. Two versions of the revised score have been developed, one for triage (T-RTS) and another for use in ...

The trauma score as applied to penetrating trauma
Annals of Emergency Medicine, 1984The Trauma Score is a simple physiological measure of injury severity that has been shown to have a high correlation with mortality for blunt trauma patients. In this study, the Trauma Score was evaluated on two subsets of penetrating trauma patients.

TRAUMA TRIAGEāA COMPARISON OF THE TRAUMA SCORE AND THE VITAL SIGNS SCORE
Australian and New Zealand Journal of Surgery, 1986A pilot study of the Trauma Score (TS) was performed from July to September 1983. The Vital Signs Score (VSS) used by the ambulance paramedics, was compared with TS. Of 266 patients suitable for study, TS data was collected for 110. Other exclusions resulted in a detailed analysis of data from 65 patients among whom there were eight deaths. There was a

Trauma scoring systems are used by researchers, registries, or individuals to describe injury severity or to estimate the prognosis of trauma patients. Triage scores also may influence the treatment of a trauma case. The first trauma scores appeared about 40 years ago.

Introduction of a novel trauma score
Journal of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery, 2012Early diagnosis of traumatic brain injury (TBI) and reliable prediction of outcome are essential for determining treatment strategies and allocating resources. This study introduces the Eppendorf-Cologne Scale (ECS) and evaluated its predictive accuracy for outcome and TBI presence compared with those of the Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS).A retrospective ...
