Osteoplastic Thumb Reconstruction in the Immediate Setting: A Case Series

open access: yesPlastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Global Open, 2022
Background:. Traumatic thumb amputation can have devastating effects on residual hand function. When replantation is not possible, thumb reconstruction is often performed in a delayed manner and may require multiple stages.

Effect of perioperative sciatic nerve block on chronic pain in patients undergoing below-knee amputation: A randomised controlled trial

open access: yesIndian Journal of Anaesthesia, 2022
Background and Aims: Many pain syndromes such as chronic phantom limb pain (PLP) and stump pain (SP), involving nociceptive and neuropathic pain, develop after amputation.

External leg amputation in conformal invariant three-point function [PDF]

open access: yesEur.Phys.J.C71:1621,2011, 2009
Amputation of external legs is carried out explicitly for the conformal invariant three-point function involving two spinors and one vector field. Our results are consistent with the general result that amputing an external leg in a conformal invariant Green function replaces a field by its conformal partner in the Green function.

Impact of yoga intervention in lower limb amputees following trauma in relation to behavior and quality of life: A randomized controlled trial

open access: yesInternational Journal of Yoga, 2023
Background: Yoga is an emerging intervention causing improvement in physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Its role in improving outcomes in patients with amputation was investigated.

Massive blood transfusion following older adult trauma: The effect of blood ratios on mortality

open access: yesAcademic Emergency Medicine, Volume 29, Issue 12, Page 1422-1430, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Background Massive blood transfusion (MBT) following older adult trauma poses unique challenges. Despite extensive evidence on optimal resuscitative strategies in the younger adult patients, there is limited research in the older adult population.

Nursing care of a patient after limb amputation - case study

open access: yesJournal of Education, Health and Sport, 2019
Amputation is the operative, partial or complete cutting off of an organ; the term mainly used for limbs. Traumatic amputation of the limb is one of the oldest surgical procedures.

Unusual Mechanisms of Penile Amputation

open access: yesCase Reports in Urology, 2019
Penile amputation is an uncommon and highly morbid injury. Many mechanisms have been reported ranging from self-mutilation and domestic violence to traumatic circumcisions. We present two unusual cases of traumatic penile amputation.

Incidence of Lower Extremity Amputation in Romania: A Nationwide 5-Year Cohort Study, 2015–2019

open access: yesMedicina, 2023
Background and Objectives: The primary objective of this study was to investigate the incidence of lower extremity amputations (LEAs) in a representative population from Romania, in both diabetic and non-diabetic adults, including trauma-related ...

Gluon 2- and 3-Point Correlation Functions on the Lattice [PDF]

open access: yesNucl.Phys.Proc.Suppl. 34 (1994) 510-512, 1993
I present some preliminary results, obtained in collaboration with C. Bernard and A. Soni, for the lattice evaluation of 2- and 3-point gluon correlation functions in momentum space, with emphasis on the amputated 3-gluon vertex function. The final goal of this approach is the study of the running QCD coupling constant as defined from the amputated 3 ...

A comparative study of 2D image segmentation algorithms for traumatic brain lesions using CT data from the ProTECTIII multicenter clinical trial [PDF]

open access: yesSPIE MEDICAL IMAGING 2020, 2020
Automated segmentation of medical imaging is of broad interest to clinicians and machine learning researchers alike. The goal of segmentation is to increase efficiency and simplicity of visualization and quantification of regions of interest within a medical image.
