Travel Motivations and Travel Careers of Malaysian Backpackers
2022The study's two primary goals are to determine the main travel motives of Malaysian backpackers and to examine the variations in travel motivations across three categories of backpackers: first-time, repeat, and serial. The results were collected using a self-administered online survey adopting a convenience sample technique.

Segmenting Chinese Backpackers by Travel Motivations
International Journal of Tourism Research, 2013ABSTRACTThis study examined travel motivations of Chinese backpackers and classified Chinese backpackers according to their travel motivations and related demographics. The study identified four motivation factors driving Chinese backpacker travels: social interaction, self‐actualization, destination experience and escape and relaxation.
