A novel crossed traveling wave induction heating (C-TWIH) system for heating thin industrial strips is proposed and its finite element method (FEM) simulations are reported. Compared with a typical traveling wave induction heating (TWIH) device, C-TWIH has more uniform and concentrated eddy current density distributions.

Computation of the axial temperature distribution for the travelling heater method
Crystal Research and Technology, 1985AbstractA theoretical model for the computation of the axial temperature distribution for the THM arrangement is described considering the heat flow in radial direction. The calculated temperature distribution is compared with the measured one. The correspondence is sufficient.

Reconstruction of the indoor air temperature distribution using acoustic travel-time tomography
2021Acoustic travel-time tomography (ATOM) is being increasingly considered recently as a remote sensing methodology to determine the indoor air temperatures distribution. It employs the relationship between the sound velocities along sound-paths and their related travel-times through measured room-impulse-response (RIR).

The thermal state of iron ore pellets during traveling-grate processes is complex, and sintering is a complex coupling process involving multiple physical factors. In this study, the temperature distribution during updraught drying (UDD) is investigated using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and orthogonal testing. Based on the calculated temperature

Abstract In the present paper, the influence of the temperature distribution in the stack on the work flow generation is experimentally investigated. To actively change the temperature distribution in the stack, the central heating method to settle the heat source on the center as well as one end of the stack is employed. As a result,

Mechanism-Based Evaluation of Thermal Ratcheting due to Traveling Temperature Distribution
Journal of Pressure Vessel Technology, 2000Recently, structural design against a new type of thermal ratcheting under a null-primary-stress condition has been required. The representative case is the thermal ratcheting of a hollow cylinder caused by a traveling temperature distribution. In this paper, the mechanism of this ratcheting is proposed, and the evaluation method of ratcheting strain ...

Improper fitting of helix bundle to rod and rod to barren envelope leads to high thermal resistances and hence restricts average power handling capability of a TWT. In this paper, authors have calculated thermal resistances at different joints of a helix traveling-wave tube (TWT), analytically and validated with COSMOS soft ware.

Abstract Acoustic travel-time TOMography (ATOM) allows the measurement and reconstruction of air temperature distributions. Due to limiting factors, such as the challenge of travel-time estimation of the early reflections in the room impulse response, which heavily depends on the position of transducers inside the measurement area, ATOM is applied ...

In this paper, neural networks with a finite element method (FEM) were introduced to predict eddy current distributions on the continuously moving thin conducting strips in traveling wave induction heating (TWIH) equipments. A method that combines a neural network with a finite element method (FEM) is proposed to optimize eddy current distributions of ...
