Analysis of Traveling Wave and Combined Site Effect of Long-Span Upper-Bearing Concrete-Filled Steel Tubular Arch Bridge

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering
In order to study the traveling wave effect and combined site effect of long-span steel tube concrete-filled arch bridge, a 400-m span bridge of the same type is taken as an example, and a large-mass time-history analysis method with multipoint input of ...

Novel scheme of beam loading compensation for a traveling wave acceleration structure with microwave pulse compression

open access: yesPhysical Review Accelerators and Beams
In order to reduce the increase in bunch energy dispersion caused by the beam loading effect, beam loading compensation in the acceleration structure is required.

Propagation of calcium waves in a bistable buffered system with nonlocal dispersal

open access: yesAdvanced Nonlinear Studies
We investigate wave propagation in a bistable buffered system with nonlocal dispersal. A central question in this problem is the effect of stationary buffers on calcium waves.

Ground Motion Response Analysis of High Arch Dam Considering Traveling Wave Effect

open access: yesRenmin Zhujiang
The seismic performance assessment of a 300-m-level high arch dam has generally adopted an analysis model based on the dynamic interaction between the dam body and the foundation.

TRANSFORMATION OF WAVES SPREADING ALONG BURIED PIPELINE BECAUSE OF CONSTRUCTIVE INCLUSIONS

open access: yesStructural Mechanics of Engineering Constructions and Buildings, 2013
The paper considers the dynamic behavior of buried pipeline with constructive inclu- sion. It is shown that a traveling wave is transformed into transmitted and reflected waves. The effect of the analytical dependence is assessed.

Traveling waves and effective mass for the regularized Landau-Pekar equations

open access: yesCalculus of Variations and Partial Differential Equations
AbstractWe consider the regularized Landau-Pekar equations with positive speed of sound and prove the existence of subsonic traveling waves. We provide a definition of the effective mass for the regularized Landau-Pekar equations based on the energy-velocity expansion of subsonic traveling waves.
