Propagation Of Waves In Periodic-Heterogeneous Bistable Systems
Wave propagation in one-dimensional heterogeneous bistable media is studied using the Schl\"ogl model as a representative example. Starting from the analytically known traveling wave solution for the homogeneous medium, infinitely extended, spatially ...

Computation of traveling wave fronts for a nonlinear diffusion-advection model
This paper utilizes a nonlinear reaction-diffusion-advection model for describing the spatiotemporal evolution of bacterial growth. The traveling wave solutions of the corresponding system of partial differential equations are analyzed. Using two methods, we then find such solutions numerically.

Sleep Alters the Velocity of Physiological Brain Pulsations in Humans
Sleep alters I/CSF oscillatory flow, driven by increased respiratory (29%) and vasomotor pulsation (21%) velocities, while cardiovascular pulsations decreased by (22%). Velocity is quantified using optical flow analysis of MREG data. Spectral power increases alongside these pulsations (spatial correlation, r = 0.35 and r = 0.39, respectively ...

Extremal properties of random trees
We investigate extremal statistical properties such as the maximal and the minimal heights of randomly generated binary trees. By analyzing the master evolution equations we show that the cumulative distribution of extremal heights approaches a traveling

Traveling wave solutions in the Burridge-Knopoff model
The slider-block Burridge-Knopoff model with the Coulomb friction law is studied as an excitable medium. It is shown that in the continuum limit the system admits solutions in the form of the self-sustained shock waves traveling with constant speed which

Reconfigurable Acoustofluidic Microvortices for Selective Microcargo Delivery
This work introduces a frequency‐encoded, reconfigurable acoustofluidic system that overcomes the low throughput and poor selectivity of conventional micro‐delivery methods. By exploiting discrete microbubble resonances to program adaptive microvortex modes, the platform enables real‐time switching and selective guidance of microscale payloads through ...
