Unimodal wave trains and solitons in convex FPU chains
We consider atomic chains with nearest neighbour interactions and study periodic and homoclinic travelling waves which are called wave trains and solitons, respectively.

Light‐Actuated Fiber‐Climbing Inchworm Robot Toward Endoluminal Navigation
A kirigami‐inspired soft inchworm robot harnesses optical energy from a customized side‐emitting optical fiber, guaranteeing its propulsion along the fiber body. The wavelength‐selective responsiveness of dye‐functionalized liquid crystal elastomers and the application of temporal illumination patterns enable sequential control of robot components. The

New exact travelling wave solutions of generalised sinh- Gordon and (2 + 1)-dimensional ZK-BBM equations [PDF]
Exact travelling wave solutions have been established for generalised sinh-Gordon andgeneralised (2+1) dimensional ZK-BBM equations by using GG expansion method whereG G( ) satisfies a second-order linear ordinary differential equation ...

Locally Induced Traveling Waves Generate Globally Observable Traveling Waves
Cortical traveling waves have been proposed as a fundamental mechanism for neural communication and computation. Methodological uncertainties currently limit the interpretability of noninvasive, extracranial traveling wave data, sparking debates about their cortical origin. Studies using EEG or MEG typically report waves that cover

Geometric Scaling as Traveling Waves [PDF]
We show the relevance of the nonlinear Fisher and Kolmogorov-Petrovsky- Piscounov (KPP) equation to the problem of high energy evolution of the QCD amplitudes. We explain how the traveling wave solutions of this equation are related to geometric scaling, a phenomenon observed in deep-inelastic scattering experiments.

This review highlights recent advances in smart face masks that actively monitor breathing. By integrating humidity, gas, temperature, pressure, strain, and triboelectric sensors, these masks track key respiratory parameters in real time. The article summarizes sensor mechanisms, compares performance across studies, and discusses challenges and future ...

Traveling Waves in Visual Cortex [PDF]
Electrode recordings and imaging studies have revealed that localized visual stimuli elicit waves of activity that travel across primary visual cortex. Traveling waves are present also during spontaneous activity, but they can be greatly reduced by widespread and intensive visual stimulation.

Bifurcation Approach to Analysis of Travelling Waves in Nonlocal Hydrodynamic-Type Models
The paper considers the nonlocal hydrodynamic-type systems which are two-dimensional travelling wave systems with a five-parameter group. We apply the method of dynamical systems to investigate the bifurcations of phase portraits depending on the ...

Travelling wave solutions to the KPP equation with branching noise arising from initial conditions with compact support [PDF]
We consider the one-dimensional KPP-equation driven by space-time white noise and extend the construction of travelling wave solutions arising from Heavyside initial data from [Tribe, 1996, MR1396765] to non-negative continuous functions with compact ...
