Geometry Analysis of Two Photon Polymerized Microneedles—An Experimental and Simulated Approach

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
This research investigates the mechanical stability of hollow, two‐photon‐polymerized microneedles for drug delivery. In an experimental setup, a steel stamp gradually compresses 1000 μm‐tall microneedles while recording their force–deformation response.

Widow rockfish: Proceedings of a workshop, Tiburon, California, December 11-12, 1980 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
This workshop was organized because of the increase between 1978 and 1980 in coastwide landings of widow rockfish, from less than 1,000 mt to more than 20,000 mt, and because of scientists' concern with the lack of knowledge both of the fishery and ...

Legal and ethical considerations around the use of existing illustrations to generate new illustrations in the anatomical sciences

open access: yesAnatomical Sciences Education, Volume 18, Issue 3, Page 289-300, March 2025.
Abstract It is likely existing anatomical illustrations are often used as the basis for new illustrative works, given not all illustrators have access to human tissues, bodies, or prosections on which to base their illustrations. Potential issues arise with this practice in the realms of copyright infringement and plagiarism when authors are seeking to

Hydrodynamic interactions in midwater trawl nets: combined effects of flow velocity and door spreading through numerical and experimental approaches

open access: yesBrodogradnja
Owing to escalating fuel costs and dwindling fish stocks, optimising midwater trawl efficiency requires a thorough investigation of net design variables.

A BIOECONOMIC ANALYSIS OF THE SWEDISH FISHERY FOR NORWAY LOBSTER (NEPHROPS NORVEGICUS) [PDF]

open access: yes
A modified version of Jones' length-based cohort analysis is linked to economic data from the Swedish trawl fishery for Norway lobster (Nephrops norvegicus). The current regulation implies a fishing practice where each landed lobster entails three killed

One-boat midwater trawling with unequal panelled trawl

open access: yes, 1983
Results of the comparative efficiency studies with 10.5 m equal panelled and 10.3 m unequal panelled midwater trawls operated from 10.9 m wooden trawler are presented. Out of the two nets, the latter proved to be relatively good for the capture of off bottom and column fishes like pomfrets, seer, lactarius, catfish, silver bar, ribbon fish and an ...

String Figuring young children's perspectives of quality in English early childhood education and care

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Quality in early childhood education and care (ECEC) is a contested concept and has generally been conceptualised by inter‐related indicators such as staff qualifications, educational environment, policy or child‐to‐staff ratios. There has been a more limited emphasis on how young children might perceive and experience quality.

Mathematical substantiation of parameters of safe pelagic trawling in the canyon [PDF]

open access: yesVestnik MGTU, 2015
The authors have offered and proved the following security options of pelagic trawling in the sea canyon: the tolerance of the vessel from the optimal track; the minimum width of the canyon giving opportunity for the conditions to ensure the safety of ...
