Effect of treadmill training on fibrocartilage complex repair in tendon-bone insertion healing in the postinflammatory stage

open access: yesBone & Joint Research, 2023
Aims: Mechanical stimulation is a key factor in the development and healing of tendon-bone insertion. Treadmill training is an important rehabilitation treatment.

The effects of treadmill or overground walking training program on gait in Parkinson's disease [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
[Abstract] Background. Gait impairment in Parkinson's disease (PD) patients is characterized by the inability to generate appropriate stride length. Treadmill training has been proposed as a therapeutic tool for PD patients.

Self‐Powered All‐in‐One Wearable Bioelectronics Driven by Pneumatic Energy Buffering of Daily Footsteps

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A pneumatic energy‐buffering strategy transforms transient and intermittent footsteps into quasi‐continuous electrical energy for a self‐powered wearable biosensing platform. The footwear‐integrated air‐pumping harvester, combined with the rationally designed power‐management system, powers a wearable ankle PPG device with reduced motion artifacts ...

Loss of LCN2 Function Ameliorates Glucocorticoid‐Induced Muscle Atrophy via Remodeling the Extracellular Matrix

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Glucocorticoids transcriptionally activate LCN2 expression via GR nuclear translocation. Secreted LCN2 binds MMP9 to degrade skeletal muscle ECM collagen, blocks integrin‐mediated mechanotransduction, bidirectionally disrupts muscle protein homeostasis, and reveals a novel target for steroid‐induced muscle atrophy.

Improving walking via real-time visual feedback after stroke in treadmill training (RE-VISIT): a protocol for randomized controlled trial

open access: yesRevista Pesquisa em Fisioterapia
BACKGROUND: After a stroke, most patients often suffer reduced walking ability and balance. Restoring walking ability and improving balance are major goals of stroke rehabilitation.

Treadmill Training with Cues and Feedback Improves Gait in People with More Advanced Parkinson’s Disease

open access: yesJournal of Parkinson’s Disease, 2017
Background: Gait disturbances in Parkinson’s disease (PD) are highly disabling and poorly responsive to drugs, especially in advanced stages. While the efficacy of a treadmill training based on external feedback and cues (treadmill-plus) on gait ...

On Nonlinear Regression for Trends in Split-Belt Treadmill Training

open access: yesBrain Sciences, 2020
Single and double exponential models fitted to step length symmetry series are used to evaluate the timecourse of adaptation and de-adaptation in instrumented split-belt treadmill tasks. Whilst the nonlinear regression literature has developed substantially over time, the split-belt treadmill training literature has not been fully utilising the fruits ...

Maximal physiological responses to deep and shallow water running.

open access: yes, 1999
The maximal physiological responses to treadmill running (TMR), shallow water running (SWR) and deep water running (DWR) while wearing a buoyancy vest were compared in 15 trained male runners.

Robotics Training Algorithms for Optimizing Motor Learning in Spinal Cord Injured Subjects [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The circuitries within the spinal cord are remarkably robust and plastic. Even in the absence of supraspinal control, such circuitries are capable of generating functional movements and changing their level of excitability based on a specific ...

A Reconfigurable Memristive Spiking Neuron Enabling Advanced Neuromorphic Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Pek Jun Tiw and co‐workers develop a reconfigurable memristive neuron that can exhibit four spiking behaviors with freely tunable spike train parameters. The neuron supports multiplexed spike encoding of multiple pieces of information. It also supports advanced neural network strategies, such as neural heterogeneity and dynamic mode switching ...
