The preparation and characteristics of surface treated barium sulfate extender pigment

Journal of Coatings Technology and Research, 2012
This article deals with the treatment of barium sulfate extender pigment with iron oxide and its phenomenological adsorption mechanism in the presence of H+ and OH− ions in solution. The pH range taken in the present study is 5–6. By depositing a ferric oxide layer on barium sulfate particles a novel pigment with better optical and functional ...

Biodegradation of Butylate, EPTC, and Extenders in Previously Treated Soils

Weed Science, 1990
Laboratory studies were conducted to determine the ability of the extenders dietholate and SC-0058 to prevent enhanced biodegradation of EPTC and butylate applied to Wisconsin soils with different histories of carbamothioate herbicide use. Enhanced EPTC and butylate biodegradation occurred in soils previously treated with those herbicides.

Mechanical and piezoelectric performance of cross-linked polypropylene films treated with extending

Ceramics International, 2015
Abstract Commercially available cross-linked polypropylene (XPP) foam sheets exhibit strong piezoelectric effect after proper mechanical modification and polarization. Such electromechanical property in XPP is due to the specific space charge distribution and void structure, and this kind of electro-active materials is named piezoelectrets or ...
