Hydrogel Microtube Drug Carrier for Catheter‐Based Intravascular Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This paper proposes hydrogel microtube carriers composed of barium alginate gel, enabling long‐term vascular retention without interrupting blood flow. Intravascular treatments have long been attracting attention for therapeutic efficacy, yet practical delivery methods remained unestablished.

Adherence Maintenance Framework in Health Psychology: Promoting HIV Treatment Compliance in Kenya

open access: yes, 2012
Adherence to antiretroviral therapy (ART) is critical for managing HIV in resource-limited settings such as Kenya, where access and affordability of healthcare services are significant challenges. The approach is primarily conceptual, drawing from existing literature in health psychology and psychosocial interventions.

Immunoinflammatory Mechanisms and Biocompatibility of Bioactive Dental Biomaterials: From Fundamental Insights to Clinical Translation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Surface‐host dialogue at the implant interface governs biological fate and osseointegration. Surface physicochemical properties of titanium (Ti) dental implants, including microgrooves, nanopatterns, nanotopography, roughness, and wettability, modulate the initial adsorption of proteins and the formation of a dynamic biointerface.

Effects of adherence to treatment for repositioning therapy, physical therapy, and cranial remolding orthoses in infants with cranial deformation

open access: yesJournal of Rehabilitation and Assistive Technologies Engineering
Deformational head shapes are most often treated through repositioning therapy (RT) and/or cranial remolding orthotic (CRO) treatment. However, there is conflicting evidence about the effectiveness of each method, and treatment compliance is suspected to

Microsphere‐Templated Conductive Syntactic Foams for Recyclable and Additively Manufactured Soft Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces a microsphere‐templated strategy to fabricate reprocessable PEDOT:PSS syntactic foams with tunable porosity, stable conductivity, and 3D printability. In situ PEDOT:PSS coatings create a conductive network that maintains electrical performance at high void fractions.

Matrix Stiffness Directs Stemness Signatures in Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We built lab‐grown breast cancer models to study how the stiffness of the tumor's surroundings influences cancer behavior. Softer environments encouraged more stem‐like, drug‐resistant cells, while stiffer ones kept cells more differentiated. These findings show that tissue mechanics drive cancer diversity and drug resistance, offering new insights for

Cellular Responses to Mechanical Cues Across Scales: From Fundamental Insights to Translational Potential

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review examines how cellular behavior is regulated by mechanical cues transmitted through soft biomaterials, from single‐cell mechanosensing to tissue‐level adaptation. It highlights why physiological relevance, rather than model complexity alone, is critical for translational mechanobiology and introduces a scoring framework linking material ...
