PARP inhibitors elicit distinct transcriptional programs in homologous recombination competent castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PARP inhibitors are used to treat a small subset of prostate cancer patients. These studies reveal that PARP1 activity and expression are different between European American and African American prostate cancer tissue samples. Additionally, different PARP inhibitors cause unique and overlapping transcriptional changes, notably, p53 pathway upregulation.

Decrypting cancer's spatial code: from single cells to tissue niches

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Spatial transcriptomics maps gene activity across tissues, offering powerful insights into how cancer cells are organised, switch states and interact with their surroundings. This review outlines emerging computational, artificial intelligence (AI) and geospatial approaches to define cell states, uncover tumour niches and integrate spatial data with ...

The influence of ROS1 fusion partners and resistance mechanisms in ROS1‐TKI‐treated non‐small cell lung cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This real‐world study of ROS1+ NSCLC highlights fusion diversity, treatment outcomes with crizotinib and lorlatinib, and in vitro experiments with resistance mechanisms. G2032R drives strong resistance to ROS1‐targeted TKIs, especially lorlatinib. Fusion partner location does not affect overall survival to crizotinib or lorlatinib. Findings support the

Stage T4B head and neck cancer survival outcome comparisons based on treatment modality: is surgery a viable treatment option? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
IMPORTANCE: Advanced stage head and neck cancers are often deemed unresectable due to the aggressive nature of the cancer. In evaluating survival patterns of patients with stage IVb tumors, it is valuable to determine whether patients who undergo ...

Feasibility of a ctDNA multigenic panel for non‐small‐cell lung cancer early detection and disease surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Plasma‐based detection of actionable mutations is a promising approach in lung cancer management. Analysis of ctDNA with a multigene NGS panel identified TP53, KRAS, and EGFR as the most frequently altered, with TP53 and KRAS in treatment‐naïve patients and TP53 and EGFR in previously treated patients.

Warts treatment modalities

open access: yesBaghdad Medical Journal Of Students, 2020
Warts are common problem in the communities and caused by many types of human papilloma virus. There are many modalities of treatment in which none was shown to be perfect and only few were based on high-level clinical trials. Treatment should be individualized in practice depending on many factors like immunity status, age, number and sites of the ...

A guide to reactive oxygen species in tumour hypoxia: measurement and therapeutic implications

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Hypoxia reshapes tumour redox landscapes by altering compartmental ROS production (mitochondria, NOX, ER, peroxisomes). Accurate interpretation requires oxygen‐contextualised measurement (live biosensors, chemical probes, EPR, LC–MS) and awareness of artefacts (reoxygenation, probe specificity).
