The treeness of the tree of historical trees of life
This paper compares and categorizes historical ideas about trees showing relationships among biological entities. The hierarchical structure of a tree is used to test the global consistency of similarities among these ideas; in other words we assess the "treeness" of the tree of historical trees.

We discuss the scaling properties of free branched polymers. The scaling behaviour of the model is classified by the Hausdorff dimensions for the internal geometry: d_L and d_H, and for the external one: D_L and D_H. The dimensions d_H and D_H characterize the behaviour for long distances while d_L and D_L for short distances. We show that the internal

Social context prevents heat hormetic effects against mutagens during fish development
This study shows that sublethal heat stress protects fish embryos against ultraviolet radiation, a concept known as ‘hormesis’. However, chemical stress transmission between fish embryos negates this protective effect. By providing evidence for the mechanistic molecular basis of heat stress hormesis and interindividual stress communication, this study ...

On the Distance Spectral Radius of Trees with Given Degree Sequence
We consider the problem of maximizing the distance spectral radius and a slight generalization thereof among all trees with some prescribed degree sequence.

After stating several tools which can be used to construct indecomposable tree modules for quivers without oriented cycles, we use these methods to construct indecomposable tree modules for every imaginary Schur root. These methods also give a recipe for

Trees with Distinguishing Index Equal Distinguishing Number Plus One
The distinguishing number (index) D(G) (D′ (G)) of a graph G is the least integer d such that G has an vertex (edge) labeling with d labels that is preserved only by the trivial automorphism.

Tree approximation in quasi-trees
n this paper, we investigate the geometric properties of quasi-trees and prove some equivalent criteria. We give a general construction of a tree that approximates the ends of a geodesic space, and use this to prove that every quasi-tree is (1,C) -quasi-isometric to a simplicial tree. As
