Plant‐Trait Syndromes and Environmental Filtering Drive Biomass Ecology in Resource‐Limited Forest Ecosystems

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 7, July 2026.
Aboveground biomass (AGB) in Pakistan's forests is primarily driven by functional dominance, with soil fertility playing a secondary but significant role, while climate effects vary across forest types. Mixed forests support the highest biomass and show the strongest influence of dominant traits, whereas climate constraints are more evident in ...

Habitat Differentiation and Trait Variation Across Disturbance Gradients in Coastal Plant Communities of the Andaman Coast, Thailand

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 7, July 2026.
Tree communities in a tropical coastal dune system exhibited distinct habitat differentiation across a sea‐to‐land disturbance gradient. These habitat differences were reflected in species composition, species diversity, and community‐weighted mean wood density.

Relationship between home range and population density in mammals: the role of sociality, territoriality and habitat dimensionality

open access: yesEcography, Volume 2026, Issue 7, July 2026.
Organisms' energy requirements increase with body mass, leading to larger home range areas and lower population density. Previous research has highlighted the differential scaling of these variables in mammals, where species with large home ranges have higher density than expected due to increased home range overlap. Here we investigate this phenomenon

TreeMig framework ver. 1.0: an R package with GUI to simulate spatio‐temporal forest dynamics

open access: yesEcography, Volume 2026, Issue 7, July 2026.
Spatio‐temporal vegetation models are essential for simulating dynamics and shifts in species distributions over large areas, particularly under global change. One such model is the dynamic forest landscape model TreeMig. We have developed a framework that makes the model more user‐friendly, improves its functionality, and expands its possibilities ...

Nutritional characterization of Cusco green tea and its synergistic effect with omega‐3 on metabolic and cognitive dysfunctions in obese rats

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, Volume 106, Issue 9, Page 5643-5657, July 2026.
Abstract BACKGROUND Obesity and its metabolic complications, such as insulin resistance and cognitive decline, remain a global health challenge. Green tea (Camelia sinensis) and ω‐3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) are recognized for their antioxidant, anti‐inflammatory, and neuroprotective properties.
