Variability of clutch size in Cormorant (Phalacrocorax carbo sinensis) at the Jeziorsko Reservoir (Central Poland) in 2004 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The analysis of the clutch size variability in Cormorant (P. carbo sinensis) was based on study results in colony at the “Jeziorsko Reservoir” (central Poland) in 2004. There were used 328 broods controlled 3-5 times in the season.

Thermal Processing Creates Water‐Stable PEDOT:PSS Films for Bioelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 37, Issue 13, April 2, 2025.
Instead of using chemical cross–linkers, it is shown that PEDOT:PSS thin films for bioelectronics become water‐stable after a simple heat treatment. The heat treatment is compatible with a range of rigid and elastomeric substrates and films are stable in vivo for >20 days.

R&D and private investment: How to conserve indigenous fruit biodiversity of Southern Africa [PDF]

open access: yes
Indigenous fruits contribute widely to rural incomes in Southern Africa but their availability is declining. A domestication program aims to increase farm-household income and conserve biodiversity through farmer-led tree planting.

Two Material Properties from One Wavelength‐Orthogonal Photoresin Enabled by a Monochromatic Laser Integrated Stereolithographic Apparatus (Mono LISA)

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 37, Issue 13, April 2, 2025.
A single object with dual properties – degradable and non‐degradable – is fabricated in a single print simply by switching the printing colors. The advanced multi‐material printing is enabled by the combination of a fully wavelength‐orthogonal photoresin and a monochromatic tunable laser printer, paving the way for precise multi‐material ...

Unveiling the Role of Curvature in Carbon for Improved Energy Release of Ammonium Perchlorate

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
High‐curvature carbon materials identified via machine learning and simulation can enhance the heat release and combustion performance of ammonium perchlorate. ABSTRACT The catalytic role of carbon curvature in the thermal decomposition of ammonium perchlorate (AP) remains largely unexplored. To address this gap, this study employs machine learning and

Forest Tree Breeding in Japan

open access: yesJAPAN TAPPI JOURNAL, 1981
A brief report on the tree breeding is given both historical view before 1954 and recent work done after 1955, in the selection of plus trees, establishment of seed orchards and progeny tests on the main tree species in Japan. In some species already reached to provide improved seed or cuttings for commercial planting.Researches on tree genetics have ...
