Comprehensive genomic characterization and differential expression analysis of m6A RNA methylation regulatory proteins (writers, readers, and erasers) in Suaeda Salsa under abiotic stress condition

open access: yesBMC Plant Biology
Background N 6 -methyladenosine (m6A), the most abundant mRNA modification, serves as a reversible epigenetic marker plays an increasingly pivotal role in gene regulation across diverse biological processes including embryo development, cell ...

Transcriptomic analyses of Pinus koraiensis under different cold stresses

open access: yesBMC Genomics, 2020
Background Pinus koraiensis is an evergreen tree species with strong cold resistance. However, the transcriptomic patterns in response to cold stress are poorly understood for P. koraiensis. In this study, global transcriptome profiles were generated for

SolRgene: an online database to explore disease resistance genes in tuber-bearing Solanum species [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Background The cultivated potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) is an important food crop, but highly susceptible to many pathogens. The major threat to potato production is the Irish famine pathogen Phytophthora infestans, which causes the devastating late ...

Bioinspired Shape‐Memory Hook Fasteners With Programmable Interlocking and Silent Release

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Bioinspired hook fasteners made from epoxy shape‐memory polymers are shown to switch between strong, secure attachment and gentle, silent release when heated. By combining programmable geometry and material response, these adaptive fasteners outperform commercial systems in strength and noise control, enabling new solutions for robotics, medical ...

New Perspectives for the Use of Elms as Street Trees [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
As a result of the continuing problems with Dutch elm disease in the Netherlands the dominant role of elm as a street tree has diminished strongly in the last decades of the 20th century.

Direct Metal Deposition of Graphene–Ti28Nb35.4Zr Matrix Composites With Enhanced Mechanical, Corrosion, and Biocompatibility Properties for Bone Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Graphene nanoplatelet (0.1 wt.%) reinforcement significantly enhances the performance of β Ti‐28Nb‐35.4Zr alloy. Grain refinement, reduced water contact angle, and improved surface characteristics promote osteoblast adhesion and complete surface coverage after 7 days.

A comprehensive analysis of the impact of genomic imbalance on gene expression in a poplar aneuploidy population

open access: yesCommunications Biology
Alteration of chromosomal dosage severely affects the expressions of cis and trans genes in human and fruit fly. However, its effect on gene expression in plants needs to be further explored.

Encyclopedia of 2D β′‐In2Se3 Growth Using Chemical Vapor Deposition: The Effects of Synthesis Parameters Onto Material Quality

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A distinct semi‐confined inner‐tube chemical vapor deposition geometry enables reproducible, large‐area growth of phase‐pure 2D β′‐In2Se3 from InI + Se precursors. Engineering local vapor transport and optimizing precursor delivery and temperature–time conditions yield uniform continuous films.
