Arboriculture & Urban Forestry, 1979
New ideas and new tools give the arborist new opportunities to better assess the hazard potential of decayed trees. Before using electronics to help detect decay in trees, today's arborist must first train the "mind's eye" to "see" inside the living tree.

Improved detection methods for fruit tree phytoplasmas
Plant Molecular Biology Reporter, 2001Phytoplasmas infecting fruit trees are considered quarantine organisms in Europe and North America. Detection often is hampered by their extremely irregular distribution in host plants. A sensitive, specific and quick diagnostic test would be highly desirable for routine detection, mainly to avoid using infected planting material.

Leak Detection Using Regression Trees
2017This work deals with the problem of water demand modeling in big cities. Well-defined model of water demand allows, among others, to detect leaks. Such a model, to be applicable to the problem of leak detection, should take into account weakly, seasonally and other recurrent changes of a water demand structure.

Decision tree based android malware detection system
2018 26th Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2018Developments in mobile device technology are driving mobile malware development especially on popular operating system platforms such as Android. Defensive software developed for malware is limited due to insufficient understanding of the features of malicious software and inaccessible on time to relevant examples.

Intelligent Object Detection Using Trees
2015In this paper a method is proposed for detection and localisation of objects in images using connected operators. Existing methods typically use a moving window to detect objects, which means that an image needs to be scanned at each pixel location for each possible scale and orientation of the object of interest which makes such methods ...

Neural tree density estimation for novelty detection
IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks, 1998In this paper, a neural competitive learning tree is introduced as a computationally attractive scheme for adaptive density estimation and novelty detection. The learning rule yields equiprobable quantization of the input space and provides an adaptive focusing mechanism capable of tracking time-varying distributions. It is shown by simulation that the

Detection of Phytoplasmas of Temperate Fruit Trees
2008Phytoplasmas are associated with hundreds of plant diseases globally. Many fruit tree phytoplasmas are transmitted by insect vectors or grafting, are considered quarantine organisms and a major economic threat to orchards. Diagnosis can be difficult, but immunochemical and molecular methods have been developed.
