Long‐term hippocampal alterations and cognitive impairment in a murine model of surgical sepsis
Using a mouse model of surgical sepsis, we tested long‐term memory and analyzed the transcriptome of single cells isolated from the hippocampus. Survivor mice showed worse memory, loss of certain brain cell subpopulations, and abnormal immune cell activity—suggesting that post‐sepsis brain alterations may be linked to cognitive deficits.

Hash-Tree Anti-Tampering Schemes [PDF]
Procedures that provide detection, location and correction of tampering in documents are known as anti-tampering schemes. In this paper we describe how to construct an anti-tampering scheme using a pre-computed tree of hashes.

Error Probability Bounds for Balanced Binary Relay Trees
We study the detection error probability associated with a balanced binary relay tree, where the leaves of the tree correspond to $N$ identical and independent detectors.

Distributed Detection in Tree Topologies With Byzantines [PDF]
In this paper, we consider the problem of distributed detection in tree topologies in the presence of Byzantines. The expression for minimum attacking power required by the Byzantines to blind the fusion center (FC) is obtained. More specifically, we show that when more than a certain fraction of individual node decisions are falsified, the decision ...

Derivation and characterization of retinal pigment epithelium from urine‐derived iPSCs
Age‐related macular degeneration causes vision loss via RPE dysfunction and loss. Traditional iPSC therapies rely on invasive biopsies, limiting scalability. Here, we utilize urine‐derived stem cells as an accessible source to generate u‐iPSCs, successfully differentiated into pigmented RPE. This “Urine‐to‐Retina” platform provides a promising path for

Papaya Tree Detection with UAV Images Using a GPU-Accelerated Scale-Space Filtering Method
The use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) can allow individual tree detection for forest inventories in a cost-effective way. The scale-space filtering (SSF) algorithm is commonly used and has the capability of detecting trees of different crown sizes ...

Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...
