The Tree-Ferns of Africa

A taxonomic account is presented covering all known African species of the genus Cyathea sensu Holttum 1963, with a key to species and varieties. Four groups of species are recognized, and are discussed with reference to those species of the West Indies, Madagascar and Ceylon which are considered to be related to each group.

Two New Tree Ferns from Panama

Recently I was sent two specimens of tree ferns to identify, which were thought to be Cnemidaria: one by Henk van der Werff at the Missouri Botanical Garden, and another by David Lellinger at the U.S. National Herbarium, which was a duplicate he had received from Missouri.
