Tree height and stem growth dynamics in a Scots pine dominated boreal forest
Tree growth is a key forest ecosystem service and essential for carbon sequestration and biomass production. However, the intra-seasonal dynamics of tree height and stem diameter growth have been difficult to measure hampering the understanding of the ...

This work introduces photo‐crosslinkable tyraminated poly(vinyl alcohol)‐gelatin (PVA‐GT) hydrogels as tunable injectable platforms for tissue engineering and growth factor delivery applications. This schematic illustrates the two developed hydrogel formulations and the experimental workflow used to evaluate their physico‐chemical properties in vitro ...

Background: Forest ecosystems are sources of environmental services, not least their considerable capacity to sequester large amounts of carbon. Accurate measurements of aboveground biomass (AGB) are therefore gaining importance in the models implemented

This work pioneers melt electrowriting (MEW) of polyethylene vinyl acetate (PEVA) to fabricate ultra‐compliant, high‐resolution scaffolds. By integrating microscale precision with soft tissue‐like biomechanics, PEVA overcomes stiffness‐driven limitations of conventional MEW polymers, establishing a mechanically biomimetic platform for soft tissue ...

The horizontal and vertical stand structure of living trees was examined in a managed and in a primeval Norway spruce-dominated forest in Southern Finland. Tree size distributions (DBHs, tree height) were compared using frequency histograms. The vertical

To dissect how mechanical forces influence intestinal physiology, we developed a stretchable 3D colon‐on‐chip that integrates tunable topography, stiffness and peristalsis‐like motion within a physiologically relevant microenvironment. We showed that stretching is a dominant factor governing epithelial behavior, markedly enhancing proliferation and ...

Thermal Processing Creates Water‐Stable PEDOT:PSS Films for Bioelectronics
Instead of using chemical cross–linkers, it is shown that PEDOT:PSS thin films for bioelectronics become water‐stable after a simple heat treatment. The heat treatment is compatible with a range of rigid and elastomeric substrates and films are stable in vivo for >20 days.
