Tree height estimation using a stochastic height-diameter relationship
[EN] Measuring the height of a tree takes longer than measuring its diameter at breast height and often only the heights of a subset of trees of known diameter are measured in forest inventories. Since trees with the same diameter are not usually of the same height, even within the same stand, a stochastic component was added to the deterministic ...

Liquid Metal Sensors for Soft Robots
This review thoroughly reviews liquid metal sensors in soft robots. Their unique material properties like high conductivity and good biocompatibility are analyzed. Working principles are classified, and applications in environmental perception, motion detection, and human—robot interaction are introduced.

Visual teach‐and‐repeat (VTR) navigation allows robots to learn and follow routes without building a full metric map. We show that navigation accuracy for VTR can be improved by integrating a topological map with error‐drift correction based on stereo vision.

Multidirectional Motion Strategy of Miniature Water Surface Robot Actuated by Single Exciter
A novel multidirectional motion strategy on the water surface based on a single exciter is proposed, and a single‐exciter single‐plate module is developed for actuation. The driving forces generation mechanism of the module is revealed from the perspective of the asymmetric surface wave field.
