Sulla possibilit\ue0 di estendere l'informazione climatica del passato attraverso le serie dendrocronologiche [PDF]
In the paper tree-ring index series obtained by 15 Pino Laricio individuals from Etna Volcano in Sicily was used in order to reconstruct the past climate. The significative relation founded between minimun temperature and tree-ring index have enable to

Matrix Model and Time-like Linear Dilaton Matter
We consider a matrix model description of the 2d string theory whose matter part is given by a time-like linear dilaton CFT. This is equivalent to the c=1 matrix model with a deformed, but very simple fermi surface. Indeed, after a Lorentz transformation,

Stabilization of L‐PBF Ni50.7Ti49.3 under low‐cycle loading was investigated. Recoverable strain after cycling was dependent on the amount of applied load. Recovery ratio was 53.4% and 35.1% at intermediate and high load, respectively. The maximum total strain reached 10.3% at a high load of 1200 MPa.

Tree-ring evidence of the elusive 1959 summer cold event in northwestern North America
Tree-ring records in northwestern North America suggest that the year 1959 was anomalously cold relative to the last several centuries. Here, we investigate the spatial characteristics, specific timing, and magnitude of the 1959 cold event through ...

Dendrokronológia geológiai és paleoklimatológiai alkalmazásokkal = Dendrochronology with applications in geology and paleoclimatology [PDF]

A combined finite element and phase‐field approach predicts the evolution of microstructure during the directional solidification of Ni‐based superalloys. The model reveals how withdrawal rate, temperature gradient, and wall thickness control the dendrite spacing, highlighting the strong effect of surface regions in thin sections where dendrite growth ...

Tree growth and vegetation activity at the ecosystem-scale in the eastern Mediterranean
Linking annual tree growth with remotely-sensed terrestrial vegetation indices provides a basis for using tree rings as proxies for ecosystem primary productivity over large spatial and long temporal scales.

Numerical Modeling of Tank Cars Carrying Hazardous Materials With and Without Composite Metal Foam
Large‐scale puncture models consisting of hazardous materials (HAZMATs) tank car with protective steel–steel composite metal foam (S–S CMF) are solved numerically. Tank car plate with added 10.91–13.33 mm thick S–S CMF layer does not puncture. Protective S–S CMF absorbs impact energy, reduces plate deformation, and prevents shear bands formation ...
