An efficient parallel tree-code for the simulation of self-gravitating systems [PDF]
We describe a parallel version of our tree-code for the simulation of self-gravitating systems in Astrophysics. It is based on a dynamic and adaptive method for the domain decomposition, which exploits the hierarchical data arrangement used by the tree ...

Efficient traversal of decision tree ensembles with FPGAs
System-on-Chip (SoC) based Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) provide a hardware acceleration technology that can be rapidly deployed and tuned, thus providing a flexible solution adaptable to specific design requirements and to changing demands. In this paper, we present three SoC architecture designs for speeding-up inference tasks based on ...

Discovery of Web Query Interface Based on HTML Features and Hierarchical Clustering [PDF]
Aiming at the problem that Web Query Interface(WQI)from different Web sites can not be found automatically due to their highly heterogeneous structure, this paper proposes a method to find WQI based on Hyper Text Markup Language(HTML)features and ...

Picture Segmentation by a Tree Traversal Algorithm
In the past, picture segmentation has been performed by merging small primitive regions or by recursively splitting the whole picture. This paper combines the two approaches with significant increase in processing speed while maintaining small memory requirements. The data structure is described in detail and examples of implementations are given.

MELEC: Meta-Level Evolutionary Composer [PDF]
Genetic algorithms (GA’s) are global search mechanisms that have been applied to many disciplines including music composition. Computer system MELEC composes music using evolutionary computation on two levels: the object and the meta. At the object-level,

The modified deep first search algorithm: functional implementation [PDF]
The article includes the modified deep first search algorithm (DFS) that allows, at a single traversal of a graph, to check its connectivity/biconnectivity, highlight the cut vertices, and build the spanning tree, the biconnected components, and the ...
